OUR MISSION: ALLEVIATE HUNGER BY CREATING ACCESS TO FOOD We are a private, nonprofit 501(c)3 food bank and accomplish our mission by soliciting, collecting, rescuing, growing, preparing and packing food for distribution through a network of more than 150 partner agencies and distribution sites. FOOD for Lane County carries the operational expense of food banking and processing with no fees to community partner agencies. We have built our success on the ability to be agile and responsive to the community’s need since we were founded in 1984.

As the second largest food bank in Oregon, we are a partner of both the Oregon Food Bank network and Feeding America, the national food bank collaborative. With only 62 employees, we rely on 77,500 hours of volunteer work equivalent to 37 FTE, a strong volunteer Board of Directors, and our community partner agencies to serve Lane County’s emergency food needs. We serve a population base of 369,519 people living within 4,722 square miles of urban and rural Lane County. Our stewardship has been recognized by Charity Navigator as a top-rated nonprofit.
