FOOD for Lane County carries the operational expense of food banking and processing with no fees to community partner agencies. We have built our success on the ability to be agile and responsive to the community’s need since we were founded in 1984. As the second largest food bank in Oregon, we are a partner of both the Oregon Food Bank network and Feeding America, the national food bank collaborative. With only 62 employees, we rely on 77,500 hours of volunteer work equivalent to 37 FTE, a strong volunteer Board of Directors, and our community partner agencies to serve Lane County’s emergency food needs. We serve a population base of 369,519 people living within 4,722 square miles of urban and rural Lane County. Our stewardship has been recognized by Charity Navigator as a top-rated nonprofit. OUR MISSION To alleviate hunger by creating access to food OUR VISION To eliminate hunger in Lane County FOOD FOR LANE COUNTY PROGRAMS CEREAL FOR YOUTH MEALS ON WHEELS Provides nutritious, organic cereal to Friendly volunteers deliver a freshly children and teens prepared, nutritiously balanced, meal to seniors living in Eugene with time for a brief CHILDREN’S WEEKEND SNACK PACK visit and safety check Distributes snack kits for elementary school- aged children to take home on weekends MULTICULTURAL OUTREACH and vacations Employs a Multicultural Outreach Coordinator to work with community EXTRA HELPING partners cultivating dignity, respect and Provides a weekly supply of bread and open access produce for residents of low-income housing NUTRITION EDUCATION FAMILY DINNER PROGRAM Through cooking classes, grocery store tours The Dining Room is a restaurant-style meal and outreach events site in downtown Eugene serving free hot dinners four nights a week PRODUCE PLUS Creates a farmer’s market experience with FOOD RESCUE EXPRESS (FREX) high-quality, free produce for people in need SERVING THE MOST VULNERABLE AMONG US Recovers prepared but unserved food from hospitals, schools and restaurants RURAL DELIVERY Financial support from donors allowed us to grow our capacity to serve to repackage into family-sized portions in Supplemental food delivery twice monthly to seniors in our community.
