X X The OMCs have over the last few months been seizing the opportunity afforded by the softening of crude prices to prop up their marketing margins. The steep hikes on auto fuel taxes – Rs 10/litre on petrol and Rs 13/litre on diesel – announced by the Centre late Tuesday won’t inflate the retail prices of these fuels immediately, as the oil marketing companies (OMCs) would for the time being adjust the extra cost against the recent fall in oil prices. HUL announces key appointments 26072013 26072013 : Mr Nitin Paranjpe, currently the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HUL will be joining the Unilever Leadership Executive (ULE), taking on the role of President, Home Care. Mr. Sanjiv Mehta, currently Chairman, North Africa & Middle East (NAME), Unilever, has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company in place of Mr. Nitin Paranjpe with effect from October 1, 2013. The appointment has been approved by the Board of Directors of HUL and will be subject to approval of the company’s shareholders. He will also be responsible for South Asia cluster which includes India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Mr Harish Manwani, Chairman, HUL, said, “The changes reflect our strong commitment towards leadership development and our tradition of leveraging experiences and synergies of talent across markets. Ganesan* Dr. M. K. Durgamani** Abstract A Brand is the sum total of the tangible and intangible benefits a product or service provides that is the entire consumer experience. It includes all the aspects critical to delivering and communicating that experience such as the name, design, the advertising the distribution channel, the reputation of the manufacturer or the brand itself. Brands are about people and ideas. In the liberalized era, the consumer is provided with varied options to choose from. The prolific growth of branded products has made the consumers to become more demanding. A brand signifies association of desires and pleasures besides the personality of the buyer with it, which in turn decides his or her preference for a particular brand. Brand images have been carefully crafted over the years in various media. Marketing will get tougher and different. It will demand thinking in unconventional ways about new kinds of distribution channels, Media strategies, distinctive brand positioning, quality of life aspirations and a new language for brand development. The rising stars of the future will be those companies that have very clearly positioned brands. -

HATHWAY DIGITAL LIMITED Financial Statements 2020-21 2 | HATHWAY DIGITAL LIMITED INDEPENDENT AUDITOR’S REPORT To the Members of Hathway Digital Limited (formerly known as Hathway Digital Private Limited) Report on the Audit of the Standalone Financial Statements Opinion We have audited the accompanying standalone financial statements of Hathway Digital Limited (formerly known as Hathway Digital Private Limited) (the Company), which comprise the Balance Sheet as at March 31, 2021, the Statement of Profit and Loss (including Other Comprehensive Income), the Statement of Changes in Equity and the Cash Flow Statement for the year then ended, and a summary of significant accounting policies and other explanatory information (hereinafter referred to as “the standalone financial statements”). In our opinion and to the best of our information and according to the explanations given to us, the aforesaid standalone financial statements give the information required by the Companies Act, 2013 (“the Act”) in the manner so required and give a true and fair view in conformity with the Indian Accounting Standards prescribed under section 133 of the Act read with the Companies (Indian Accounting Standards) Rules, 2015 as amended, (“Ind AS”) and other accounting principles generally accepted in India, of the state of affairs of the Company as at March 31, 2021, its profit (including other comprehensive income), its changes in equity and its cash flows for the year ended on that date.
