SHRI JESUDASU SEELAM: Will the Minister of HOME AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Union Government has initiated any action on the Ordinance for transfer of certain mandals from Khammam district to East Godavari and West Godavari districts for facilitating Polavaram Project and other issues as provided in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 and also as was assured by the then Prime Minister on the floor of the Rajya Sabha on the 20th February, 2014 during the passage of the Bill; and (b) if so, the details thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISRTY OF HOME AFFIARS (SHRI HARIBHAI PARATHIBHAI CHAUDHARY) (a) to (b): A Statement is laid on the Table of the House. ***** STATEMENT IN REPLY TO PARTS (a) TO (b) OF RAJYA SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 153 FOR 3.12.2014. (a) to (b): An ordinance, for transfer of certain mandals from Khammam district to east Godavari and West Godavari district for facilitating Polavaram Project and other issues was promulgated by the President and notified in the Gazzette as Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2014 on 29th May' 2014. On the 11th July, the Replacement Bill giving effect to the amendment to section 3 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 with retrospective effect from the 29th May, 2014 was passed by the Lok Sabha. On the 14th July, it was also passed by the Rajya Sabha. The amendment received the assent of the President and was notified in the Gazzette on 18th July' 2014. This repealed the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2014. ****** .

Damodaran 1Asst Professor, Dept of Agricultural Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Annamalai University, Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu 2Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Annamalai University, Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu ABSTRACT The present study has analysed the growth rate of chilli production in Guntur district of Andra Pradesh. In Guntur district, growth rates of area, production and productivity has increased due to the effective extension work. But, in Andhra Pradesh, decreasing trend is seen growth rate of area whereas production and productivity had been positive. The cost of manure and labour is high in the chilli production and the net return from the crop is reasonable. Manure is the major input that involves more cost. Similarly, hiring labour is also costly and difficult to find agricultural labours. The input-output ration is reasonable wherein more concentration and research can increase the level of chilli production at high level. Thus, the government must come forward to concentrate more on chilli production through research and development, which has more scope for export earnings. Keywords: cost, return, yield, labour, growth rate INTRODUCTION Chilli is produced throughout India, making our country the most dominating player in the world market. The varieties of chilli produced by India are Sannam, LC 334, Byadgi, Wonder Hot and Jwala. It is cultivated in all the states and union territories of the country.

Land and Income Inequalities in Rural Andhra Pradesh

NARASAIAH Land and Income Inequalities in Rural Andhra Pradesh INTRODUCTION This article presents the results of village surveys conducted in Andhra Pradesh in 2008-09 and deals with unequal distribution of land among different socio economic groups and among different castes. Further, it deals with the sources of income and inequality in distribution of income among such groups. The survey was conducted in 88 villages spread over all the 22 rural districts covering 21657 households in the state. In each village a census type survey of households was first conducted and then, the households were divided into different groups like agricultural workers, farmers, households engaged in traditional occupations etc., basing on main source of income. Then, in order to collect detailed data on employment and incomes a second round sample survey of 10 percent households randomly selected was conducted in all the villages. For example, from an agricultural worker’s household, data was collected pertaining to the types of work they were employed in, number of days of work in a year for each type of work, the wage rates for each type of work, number of days of non- agricultural work and it’s wage rates, detailed Land and Income Inequalities in Rural Andhra Pradesh information regarding income from cultivation on own and rented land and income from leased out land etc. Similar exercise was done for the remaining groups also. In the case of cultivators, data was collected regarding the number of acres sown, crops raised, output obtained and the rates at which the produce was marketed for calculating their income from cultivation (Family labour was not accounted for) Andhra Pradesh is primarily an agricultural state in which 70 percent of its population is living in rural areas.

At least 83 people are reported to have died. Hundreds more people remain missing. Property has been severely damaged, as has the communications network, as heavy rains battered most parts of the state. The unprecedented rains, have paralysed normal life completely and has damaged thousands of acres of crops. Homes and fields are covered with sand and have affected the normal livelihood activities. The situation is now slowly improving and in certain areas families are leaving the relief camps to restart their lives. The ACT members in India – Church’s Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA), the Lutheran World Service India (LWSI) and), United Evangelical Lutheran Churches in India (UELCI) have been in contact with each other co-ordinating their responses. Disaster Management E. Godavari District
Introduction The East Godavari District is located in the North Coastal part of the state of Andhra Pradesh. The District boundaries are Visakhapatnam, West Godavari, Khammam Districts and Bay of Bengal.The District is known as rice bowl of Andhra Pradesh with lush paddy fields and coconut groves. It is also known as another Kerala. East Godavari, it is the Rice Granary of Andhra Pradesh, beckons tourists to have a glimpse of its rich cultural heritage. Where the lush paddy fields swaying in the breeze appear to dance in a celebration to life.The Headquarters of the District is located at Kakinada.The District is a residuary portion of the old Godavari District after West Godavari District was separated in 1925. As the name of the district conveys, East Godavari District is closely associated with the river Godavari, occupying a major portion of the delta area. East Godavari district is having the area of 10,807 Sq Kms with 7 Revenue divisions, 64 Revenue mandals and 1012 Grama panchayats with a population of 51,51,549 as per 2011 provisional census figures. The Headquarters of the District is located at Kakinada. East Godavari District lies North - East Coast of Andhra Pradesh and bounded on the North by Visakhapatnam District and the State of Orissa, on the East and the South by the Bay of Bengal and on the West by Khammam District of Telangana State and West Godavari Districts. Area of the District is 12,805 Sq.Kms including newly added Yetapaka Division.
