In Race 2, Comte gave the Peugeot 308 TCR its maiden victory in the FIA World Cup after he drove a perfect race. Two Münnich Motorsport Honda Civic cars also claimed podium finishes after James Thompson, who had run for much of the race in second place, slowed on the final lap and allowed his teammate Ehrlacher to pass. Thompson started from pole with Comte alongside on the front row. The Frenchman made a better start and led Thompson going into Turn 1 with ’s Cupra in third place. Comte and Thompson then ran as a pair at the head of the field, with the British driver never getting quite close enough to mount a serious challenge for the lead. The safety car came out on Lap 5 following contact between Giovanardi and Aurélien Panis; Comte managed the restart well and then drove sensibly to record the win. Ehrlacher spent much of the race fighting with Oriola for third position and there was contact between the pair on Lap 12 that allowed the Honda driver to pass. Ehrlacher then claimed second place when Thompson slowed down on the final lap.

Vernay made it three French wins from three races when he took a lights-to flag victory in Race 3. The Leopard Lukoil Audi RS3 LMS started from pole, alongside Huff’s Golf GTI, but Vernay got the better start and led into Turn 1. From then on, it was a case of managing his pace and holding the British driver at bay. Vernay’s teammate Gordon Shedden started alongside Frédéric Vervisch on Row 2, so there were three Audi cars occupying the top 4 grid places. The fifteen-lap race began in robust fashion, with a number of glancing contacts between Vervisch and Esteban Guerrieri on the opening lap. Shedden reignited his battle with Guerrieri in the race’s later stages, but the Scottish driver was once again forced to finish behind the Argentine. Behind Vernay and Huff, Vervisch finished third, ahead of the battle between Guerrieri and Shedden that was only resolved when Shedden ran wide on the penultimate lap and so took the pressure off the Honda driver. The results meant Ehrlacher left the Netherlands with a 146-point lead in the Drivers’ standings; he is followed by Muller on 137, Huff on 130 and Vernay on 121; remained scoreless and dropped to fifth with 118 points. Two incidents during the race resulted in punishment for those drivers involved. Paulsen and Tassi both received thirty- second penalties from the Stewards; Paulsen for causing an incident that forced Barr to retire on lap 2 and Tassi for a dramatic incident on lap 9 that resulted in Møller spinning at the exit to the Radaillon as the pair fought for 11th place. Race 2 then saw more incidents and another penalty handed out. Target Competition’s Kris Richard took the lead early on lap 1 but was challenged by a determined Files. The safety car was deployed while Tassi’s car was recovered following a puncture and when the race restarted, Files was forced to stop with an electrical problem. Richard’s lead then came under attack from the Peugeot of Briché and after the French driver overtook the Hyundai on the penultimate lap, the pair made contact and Richard retook the lead. He then took the chequered flag in first place, but the Stewards later handed the Swiss driver a one-second penalty for that contact that demoted him to second place and so allowed Briché to take the win. Comini’s return to the TCR Europe series ended in disappointment. The two-time TCR International Series champion retired from race 1 after making contact with Files and then pulled off the grid within moments of Race 2 starting. There would also be no points from Race 2 for Vernay, who had made his way from tenth on the grid to third by lap 7 but then clashed with Briché at the Bus Stop chicane and retired with a broken driveshaft. Behind Briché and Richard, a delighted Potty again finished on the podium, but fourth place was enough for Azcona to further extend his lead over Borković in the Drivers’ series to 11 points. Vernay has moved up into third place, a further 28 points adrift.
