Batute, 6 - 8 March 2020, 7:30 p.m. Program/ Repertoire: forum, readathon, performance Description:A three-day festival that puts the spotlight on stories about women by women through staged readings and featured performances of women’s plays, and a forum. With the theme “Empowerment, Diversity and Equality,” the festival also have workshops, a creators’ market, and interviews with renowned playwrights. The project also seeks to inspire women to write, visualize their own stories and energize them to believe in their own talent in writing, producing and acting. This event is the flagship project of the CCP’s Gender and Development (GAD) Committee for 2020. VIRGIN LABFEST 2020: KAPIT (Preparation Phase) THE Virgin Labfest braves a new front and adjusts to new realities as the playwrights, directors and actors take a further leap of faith to bring the annual festival of untried, untested and unstaged works on a virtual stage. In response to the COVID 19 crisis, the theater festival will have its lockdown edition, slated on June 10 to 28, 2020. Dubbed “VLF 2020 KAPIT: Lab in the Time of Covid (A Virtual Labfest Lockdown Edition),” the 16th edition will feature nine new works, three revisited works, and six staged readings.The nine main performances are: “Doggy” by Dustin Celestino, directed by Roobak Valle; “Pilot Episode” by Floyd Scott Tiogangco, directed by Giancarlo Abrahan; “Dapithapon” by Jay Crisostomo IV, directed by Sigmund Roy Pecho; “Papaano Turuan ang Babae Humawak ng Baril” by DarylPasion, directed by Erika Estacio; “BlackPink” by Tyron Casumpang, directed by Jethro Tenorio; “Multiverse” by Juliene Mendoza, directed by Fitz Edward Bitana; “Titser Kit” by Jobert Grey Landeza, directed by Adrienne Vergara; “Mayang Bubot sa Tag-araw” by Mark Norma Boquiren, directed by Mark Mirando; and, “Gin Bilog” by Luisito Nario, directed by James Harvey Estrada. Ongoing preparations, meetings and consultation are being conducted on various aspects of the production and other components of the festivals which includes: Virgin Labfest Playwrights’ Fair – playwrights share, read their works, give talks/panel discussions online. Virgin Labfest Fellowship Program CINEMALAYA FESTIVAL (Deliberation Phase) 2020 Short Films and 2021 Full-Length Films Since the start of the lockdown, the Film, Broadcast and New Media Arts Division is working on ways to gradually migrate their programs to online platforms. The program included Lucio San Pedro’s Ang Buwan sa Kabundukan,Franz Schubert’s Erlkőnig, Manuel De Falla‘s Siete Canciones Populares Españolas, Pyotr IlyichTchaikovsky’s Tatiana’s Letter Scene (Eugene Onegin), Jeffrey Ching’s, My Heart Stayed Numb (The True Story of King Kong) and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony no.6, op. 74, B minor “Pathetique”. Gerard Salonga is currently the music director of the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra in Manila, and is in his second season as assistant conductor of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. He has guest-conducted the HK Philharmonic, Philippine Philharmonic, Shanghai Opera House Orchestra and Chorus, Evergreen Symphony, Bangkok Symphony, Malaysian Philharmonic, Orchestra Victoria in Melbourne, and early this year made his debut with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Definition of terms: 1. Painting – refers to the application of color, pigment, or paint to a surface or support. These surfaces may include paper, wood, canvas, metal or walls. Paint is made of pigment mixed in a binder. 2. Sculpture – a three dimensional artwork which may be through different processes, such as carving, modeling, assembling or casting. It may be executed as a free- standing object, in relief, or in environments, and a variety of media may be used. 3. Architecture – the art and science of designing and constructing buildings (structures), and other environmental features. II. The elements of Visual Arts 1. Line – the most basic of all elements. A line is an identifiable path traced by a moving point. Lines vary in types. They can be horizontal, vertical, diagonal, straight or curved thick or thin. Different lines are used to signify, different feelings. For example: Horizontal line – suggests a feeling of rest, serenity, or perfect stability Vertical line – dominance, height, power Diagonal line – uncertainty, unrest, movement or action Curved line – flow, softness, flexibility, grace 2. Shape – shapes and forms are figures which define object s in space. A shape is a two- dimensional figure. Circles, triangles, and squares are common examples of shapes.

A similar measure has been introduced in the Ontario leg- islature, the provincial parliament, in December, which, if passed, would be implemented province-wide. On the local level, the Toronto City Council voted in No- vember to have June as Filipino Heritage Month in Toron- to, Ontario's capital, coinciding with the celebration of Philippine independence day on June 12. Salma Zahid, MP for Scarborough Centre, said on Thurs- day, Jan. 18, that she filed a motion in Parliament which "recognizes the contributions of the Filipino community have made to the socio-economic fabric" of Canada. This work is made available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ Abstract: This paper presents an overview of the classical era of music in the Philippines and the pre-war art music manuscript collection of the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Music that needs immediate preservation and restoration. The music scores included in this collection were created by renowned Filipino composers and National Artists for Music. It also discusses the initiatives done by the university and concerned faculty members and students to prolong the life and usability of these music scores, as they are still always being played in concert halls. This kind of archival music manuscripts restoration project is the first in the university since the UP College of Music Library does not have its own conservation facility. A simple laboratory was set up by the project proponents and the restoration process involves digital imaging of the originals, evaluation and documentation, deacidification, cleaning, mending, encapsulation and boxing/binding. Villegas Cultural Award, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound, Gender Sensitivity and Best Float Awards. The historical drama film Culion won the Special Jury Prize Award. Culion is directed by Alvin Yapan, starring Iza Calzado (Ana), Jasmine Curtis-Smith (Doris), and Meryll Soriano (Ditas). Set in the 1940s, the movie tells the story of three women seeking a cure for leprosy.
