(040) 853 88 888 ∙ www.fkpscorpio.com PRESSEMITTEILUNG 07.05.2018 Skindred im August in Deutschland Skindred sind zurück und zwar mit Karacho: Für die walisischen Ragga-Metal-Visionäre Skindred und ihr siebtes Album „Big Tings“ ist der Horizont die Ziellinie. Der Nachfolger des 2015er Albums „Volume“ ist ein schnaubendes, stampfendes Monster voller ultra-heavier, bis zum Anschlag verzerrter Riff-Einschläge. Und natürlich ist da Benji Webbe, der ja auch schon bei den Pionieren des Genres von Dub War den Frontmann, Sänger und Wortkünstler gab. Seine fieberhaften Raps liefern den Songs nicht nur die Lyrics, es ist Webbs‘ einzigartiger Flow und seine charakteristische Stimme, die den Sound der Band unnachahmlich prägen. Mit dem Titelstück wird der Weg vorgegeben, mit heftigen Schlagzeugschlägen der Rhythmus fürs ganze Album vorgelegt. Das Ganze mit nur einem Ziel: Energetischer Metal und Punk reiben sich an smoothen Melodien – und selbstverständlich lassen Skindred hier keinen von der Tanzfläche, bevor sie nicht ein paar ihrer gigantomanischen Refrains gedroppt haben. Überlebensgroße Songs, überlebensgroßer Sound. Webbe hat sich zu einem veritablen Shouter entwickelt, und der Sound geht stärker weg vom Reggae-Vibe und hin zum graden Riffrock, ohne dass jedoch die Wurzeln verleugnet werden. Und dann ist da noch die Single „Machine“ mit Mikrofon-Support von Reef-Sänger Gary Stringer und Motörhead- Sechssaiter Phil Campbell: Das Ding ist so infektiös, dass kein Geringerer als AC/DC-Frontmann Brian Johnson den Song als Intro und Outro für seine TV-Show „Cars That Rock“ übernahm. Natürlich wollen die Briten ihre neuen Songs auch live präsentieren. Auf der Bühne stehen die Jungs sowieso immer unter Strom und liefern eine Vollgas-Show vom Feinsten ab.
