  • Block Party Festival Planning and Ideas Toolkit
Block Party Festival Planning and Ideas Toolkit So you are going to host or join a block party… Congratulations! You don’t have to live on a block of single family homes to hold a block party; people in apartments and condos have them too! This tool kit offers tips and suggestions on how to make your party a smooth running success. You may decide to simply close your street to traffic and sip lemonade in the sun, or you may want to hold a parade, dance lessons and a fashion show…from the most simple to the most elaborate, it’s your call! Details you should discuss ahead of time: Setting the stage for success Planning ahead and getting others to share in the work are the keys to a successful party. ● Gather as many neighbours as possible and divide up the tasks: advertising, setup, helping out the elderly and/or disabled, coordinating food, security, dealing with vehicles, clean up, removal of barricades and furniture. Make a list of all the things that need to be done and have people sign on. ● Include everybody in the planning! Children, seniors, members of minority groups, people who speak different languages, people with disabilities, neighbourhood churches and so on. By far the best way to get people involved is to ask them directly. ● Decide on a possible theme for the block party. ● Think of an alternate plan in case of poor weather. You might want to track down some folding tents – perhaps from a local organisation or school – just in case you want to hold some activities under shelter.

  • Keeping the Company Holiday Party Holly and Jolly for All
Questions—And Answers Keeping the Company Holiday Party Holly and Jolly for All Kevin J. Smith and Rachel J. Tischler The “most wonderful time of the year” is often one of employ- ers’—and employers’ lawyers’—least favorite, chiefly due to the stress and worry that the annual holiday party brings. Manag- ing employee personalities and office interactions can be a chal- lenge during the rest of the year, but adding alcohol and good cheer can easily compound those concerns. Before employees can deck the halls with boughs of discrimination lawsuits, employers should review some of the basics. The employer’s duty to provide a working environment free from harassment or hostility does not end just because the party takes place after working hours and/or outside the office setting; it extends to company-sponsored parties in or out of the office. This Q&A addresses questions and provides answers to help keep employer-sponsored holiday par- ties fun for all—even HR. CAN EMPLOYEES BE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THE HOLIDAY PARTY? Yes, but employers may then need to pay for their attendance. If a nonexempt employee—that is, an employee otherwise entitled to overtime premium pay—is required to attend, then the per- son must be paid for the time he or she spends at the holiday party. Moreover, if that same employee is nonexempt, and the amount of time he or she spends at the holiday party increases his or her total hours worked for the week over 40, then the employee becomes entitled to an overtime premium payment— generally one and one-half times that employee’s regular rate of pay.

Encounter Party 3 - Murder at the Festival.mp3 Fri, 03/29 04:07AM 51:00 SUMMARY KEYWORDS rakdos, harlequin, marionettes, roll, murder, theater, hear, lennox, hand, damage, giggling, performer, fire, boros, goblin, daggers, check, head, limbs, throw SPEAKERS Sarah, Ned Donovan, Andrew, Brian, Landree, Eddie B Brian 00:00 Last time on Encounter Party, what began as a mutual punishment turn to terror as a grizzly murder sours the Guildpact festival. Left unsolved, this heinous crime could ruin our players' agreement with the Boros captain. Can they stop the culprit in time? Or will they celebrate the new year in jail? Find out this week on Encounter Party! As you wearily climb out of bed, you rise to the stirring of the city. Golden sunlight bathes the city in warmth, all none the wiser that such a horrific crime occurred mere hours ago. The new year brings a freshness to the air, one you all would enjoy if not for the sour aftertaste in your mouths. As you don your garments and armor, the Boros sigil flare like manacles over your heart, tethering you once again to the task at hand. Day two brings even more fervor as you notice the more impressive attractions were saved for the back half of the festival. As you shuffle out into the street, would someone please roll me a D6. Ah, you roll a four. Okay, so the first thing you notice as you step out is there's a parade. Early in the morning several guilds have gotten together to celebrate the Third District part of Ravnica.
