GRAHAM WALKER FILM MUSIC PRODUCER / MUSIC PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR Graham is one of Britain’s most experienced and active Music Producers specialising in the international film music business. Education Graham studied music at Kneller Hall, the Royal Military School of Music and the Guildhall School of Music in London after which he began his career in the music production business. Graham is also a good musician; a trumpet player. Graham is one of Britain’s most experienced and active Music Producers specialising in the international film music business. After a distinguished career as Musical Director of Yorkshire Television, Head of Music for Granada Television and Head of Film Music Production for Lord Grade’s ITC Films, Graham then became freelance. The first 6 years of Graham’s career were spent at the world famous KPM Production Music Library; that was the day job! The night job was arranging and conducting sessions for various ‘pop’ and variety stars’ singles and albums such as Dickie Henderson, Roy Castle, Nicko McBrain (the drummer from Iron Maiden) and the number 1 hit ‘Grandad’ performed by Clive Dunn(!) plus score takedowns for the BBC’s ‘Top of the Pops’ for US groups such as ‘The Four Tops,’ Diana Ross and The Supremes,’ Otis Redding,’ ‘Marvin Gaye’ and many others. Work: Musical Director - Yorkshire Television, Head of Music - Granada Television, Head of Film Production (Music) - Lord Grade’s ITC Films, Head of Music - Zenith Productions. Over the years Graham has acquired extensive expertise in recording throughout Europe and beyond. He has worked with many composers, musicians and orchestras in the recording centres of London, New York, Paris, Munich, Cologne, Rome, Brussels, Berlin, Budapest, Moscow, Belgrade, Prague, Bratislava, Brandenburg and various locations in South Africa. -

It's easy to do, and every critic does it, from the film reviewers in the newspaper to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. But you and I, and those same directors, all know that it takes a video village to bring a film from the page to the screen to the stage accepting an award. Personally, I think it's the editors that get the shortest shrift in these cases. But the person who's often just as responsible as a director for how a film looks and feels is the cinematographer. Which is what makes the partnership between they and the director so crucial in filmmaking. If a director is lucky, they form a bond with one for most of their oeuvre. Paul Thomas Anderson and Robert Elswit. Spielberg and Janusz Kamiński. Christopher Nolan and Wally Pfister. And sometimes you'll get some cinematography polyamory. Oliver Stone, Quentin Tarantino, and Martin Scorsese share Robert Richardson. Of course a counterpoint to this film paper is that Kathryn Bigelow has worked with many different cinematographers over the years. Roger Deakins, on camera for Sam Mendes's 1917, is widely considered to be one of the greatest and most influential cinematographers in the history of film. -

CARLO VERDONE TO OPEN FESTIVAL “FOCUS” ON ROBERTO FAENZA Dates for the 2009 Est Film Festival officially released: Cinema returns to Montefiascone from July 25th to August 2nd EST FILM FESTIVAL (www.estfilmfestival.it) – produced by Arcopublic (www.arcopublic.it), in collaboration with the media partner magazine www.cinemadelsilenzio.it and promoted by the Lazio Region, Viterbo Province, the Viterbo Chamber of Commerce, Montefiascone City and RomaLazioFilmCommission – will celebrate its 3rd anniversary from July 25th to August 2nd 2009 at Montefiascone (Vt), with nine days of great cinema COMPLETELY FREE to the public. After the success of last year’s EST FILM FESTIVAL, (over 8000 people attending over one week), with prestigious guests like Nanni Moretti, Pupi Avati, Giuliano Montaldo, Giorgio Diritti, Francesco Patierno and Carmine Amoroso, winner of the 2008 Arco for "Cover Boy", this year’s festival aims to involve the whole of the Tuscia area in a cultural programme packed with cinematographic and other events. A BRIEF PREVIEW OF THE PROGRAMME Carlo Verdone will be the chief guest at the inauguration. He will meet the public and receive a Special lifetime achievement award during the inauguration ceremony at 6 pm on Saturday July 25th at Rocca dei Papi.
