A fuel pump failure in the final laps slowed down Toine Hezemans’ Alfa Romeo GTAm and Alex Soler-Roing inherited victory in his BMW 2800 CS. 19 October 2008 – The European Touring Car Cup marked the return of the FIA tin top cars on the track. Danish driver Michel Nykjær clinched the title in the Super 2000 class at the wheel of a Chevrolet Lacetti. 20 May 2012 – During the second WTCC race, Chevrolet factory drivers Alain Menu and Yvan Muller were both eliminated by tyre failures while leading. At the last corner their team-mate Rob Huff had a puncture as well and handed victory to Stefano D’Aste. 18 May 2013 – A record mass penalty hit twelve drivers who were altogether imposed a drop of 136 positions on the starting grid after they were deemed guilty of unsporting behaviour while driving too slowly during the qualifying session.
