In December of next year, I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in electronic media and communication from Texas Tech University. I have always had a passion for video entertainment production and have been a fan of Rooster Teeth’s since Red vs. Blue: The Blood Gulch Chronicles. It is for these reasons that I think I would be a good fit as an intern at Rooster Teeth As I said, I have been a fan of Rooster Teeth for a long time. I enjoy your many channels of content such as Red vs. Blue, Let’s Play and Achievement Hunter to name a few. Rooster Teeth’s expansion to 8.4 million subscribers on its main channel is an impressive accomplishment. I am also looking forward to seeing your feature film Lazer Team. The fact that Rooster Teeth’s production has gone from machinima content to live action entertainment speaks volumes to the growth of your company. Rooster Teeth has always seemed like a place that fosters talent and passion for the entertainment industry, all the while being perfectly placed in the energetic city of Austin. Because of this, I would like the opportunity to join your team and contribute to your ongoing success. I believe I possess the necessary skills to be an effective member at Rooster Teeth Productions. I have been getting regular practice in video editing with Adobe Premiere as well as camera operating skills while in college. As I hope you’ll notice in my résumé, I am member of a student video production team, Heads Up Display. Our organization gives members that chance to gain experience in producing a review show and managing a YouTube channel. As a member of this organization, I act as a producer, editor, public relations officer and on-camera talent. I also worked as a production assistant on an independent film in Queens, New York. The film was Lost Cat Corona and it starred Ralph Macchio as the main character. While on set, I had the privilege to tend to the needs of producers, the director and the actors in the film. With the experiences I’ve had thus far in film production, I feel like I have much to contribute and would like a chance to prove that at Rooster Teeth. An Open Letter to All Who Treasured Monty Oum by Shane Newville Summary I had big dreams for a long time but never believed in myself. I started going for it anyway and met Monty Oum, who helped the crap out of me. After years of teaching myself, loads of practice, picking his brain, and taking his advice, I eventually got a job that allowed me to work with him and get paid for it. It was the dream job, for a time. Regardless of what follows I am forever grateful for that. Working with him was really my only reason for being at Rooster Teeth. Monty met one of the greatest women on earth (Sheena Duquette) and got married. For close to a year both he and she worked together on RWBY Volumes 2 & 3 (herself unofficially and uncredited). He spent more time at home working with her at his side than he did at the office, hoping to bring RWBY back on track to the way he wanted to tell the story. Too soon, Monty passed away. Sheena was not allowed to continue working on RWBY. After Rooster Teeth closed the door in her face, she moved to LA to be around people who loved and supported her. It was a long 4 months of politics and fighting to protect Monty’s legacy, as we cared about him and his vision more than we cared about the company selling its IP and making bank. My wife left with our kids. She wanted a divorce. It was difficult for her to deal with me, my issues, and the insane amount of work I took on.
