Artisans Du Monde Réveille Les Consciences L'exigence, De L'atelier Artisans du monde réveille les consciences Artisans du Monde est la marque pionnière du commerce équitable qui porte une véritable histoire : celle des paysans qui perpétuent un savoir-faire traditionnel, celle des bénévoles qui se mobilisent chaque jour pour un commerce plus humain et plus soucieux de l’environnement et celle des consomm’acteurs qui pour leur acte d’achat s’engagent pour un commerce équitable exigeant. Une histoire de bon sens En 1974, personne n’y croyait. C’est pourtant cette année-là, animé par un désir de justice et un esprit follement avant-gardiste, qu’Artisans du Monde a créé la première boutique équitable en France. A l’époque déjà, la marque favorise les relations directes avec les producteurs, le respect des droits humains fondamentaux, ainsi qu’une juste rémunération qui leur permet de subvenir aux besoins de leur famille. Une prime, qui leur est systématiquement versée, est destinée à des projets de développement local. Le succès est au rendez-vous et ne cesse de croître depuis 40 ans : la consommation de produits issus du commerce équitable poursuit son irrésistible ascension. Aujourd’hui, dans les 130 associations Artisans du Monde qui maillent la France, ce sont 105 organisations de producteurs, originaires de 44 pays qui sont représentées. Mais au-delà de la certification, nous avons une ambition de progression permanente pour permettre aux producteurs d’être les propres acteurs de leur développement. La marque a fait le choix d’une distribution 100% équitable, uniquement dans des boutiques associatives et des magasins bio. Pour porter ces convictions et faire en sorte que l’équitable soit la norme et non plus l’exception, 6000 bénévoles se mobilisent chaque jour via des campagnes de sensibilisation et des actions d’éducation. Un nouveau citoyen qui s’engage, un nouveau consomm’acteur qui déguste les produits, et c’est tout le mouvement qui grandit. Notre ambition par le Commerce Equitable : • Développer l’économie : prix équitable, préfinancement des commandes, prime pour des projets collectifs, engagement durable avec les producteurs et transparence de la chaîne de commercialisation. • Protéger l’environnement : réduire l’empreinte écologique de la production, défendre la biodiversité. • Défendre les droits sociaux et humains. 1 le prix équitable carte des points de vente artisans du monde Le prix payé aux producteurs est le résultat d’une négociation entre les différentes parties prenantes : producteurs, travailleurs, acteurs économiques, associations de commerce alternatif, représentants des labels. L’objectif est d’obtenir un prix visant à couvrir les frais de production, de vie quotidienne et d’organisation. Detail Account of 12 Occupational Groups Out of 12 occupational groups which were studied in detail, Tarabatkar, Rangrez, Pinjari and Momin are craftsman groups, Bagban, Tamooli, Gao-quasab, Bakkar-quasab are trading groups and Bawarchi is service group. Remaining three are religious sects, viz., Bohra, Shia Imami Ismaili and Mahdavi. Excluding these religious sects, the first charac­ teristic of these occupational groups is that they bear distinct names. These names are derived from the traditional occupations which members of these groups either pursued in the past or are engaged in today. The second characteristic of these groups is their association with traditional occupation. Traditionally the Tambatkars were metal craftsman particularly in copper. They used to mint coins, cast cannons apart from casting and manufacturing utensils. In addition to this they were engaged in two other kinds of occupations, viz., oil pressing 114 115 and owners of modikhana. The former is to extract oil from sesame and the latter storing of foodgrains and other goods and its distribution. In Rajasthan these occupations are still followed by them. In Ahmadnagar few families of Tambatkars are still following their traditional occupation of metal craftsman exclusively. But the nature of their occupation has changed in the course of time. They do not cast metal any more. Instead, they prepare utensils out of brass sheets casted in the factory by way of hammering it. The copper is being replaced by brass for its utility and it being cheaper than copper.
