Jauhola provides Gendered Urban Politics alternative ways to reflect the peace dialogue using ethnographic and in the Aceh Peace Process film documentarist storytelling. Scraps of Hope in Banda Aceh tells a story of layered exiles and displacement, revealing hidden narratives of violence and grief while exposing struggles over gendered expectations of being good and respectable women and men. It brings to light the multiple ways of arranging lives and forming caring relationships outside the normative notions of nuclear family and home, and offers insights into the relations of power and violence that are embedded in the peace. Very simple. Quite a bit like a penny knife. Not much like By Clyde Shoe the folding surgical instruments later in the century. (with much editorial help from my dear wife, Alice) th Instruments in folders like these are called bistouries, a French Prepared for the unexpected, doctors in the 19 century often carried word later adapted to English. Bistouries are small surgical knives surgical instruments around in their pockets. These were quality or other tools used in minor operations. This Ferris folder has a gum lancet at one end, looking like a tiny hatchet. At the other end is a slender scalpel. The gum lancet was used, as you might guess, for lancing gum abscesses. Abscesses were common when toothbrushes were not. The gum lancet is aptly named. Just looking at it makes my mouth ache. The design must have been precisely right because identically-shaped lancets were in use a long time—from the late 18th to the early 20 th centuries. Even so, my dentist didn’t recognize the instrument. He could not guess its function until I told him the name.

  • February 2012 Whittlers - Part 2 Roy Humenick in Their Day, Whittlers Enjoyed Quite a Bit of Popularity
KNEWSLETTTER IN A KNUTSHELL 4 Whittler Pattern Knives 4 Custom knife competition 4 Jack knife game 4 Smile knife 4 2012 OKCA Club Knife 4 Sharp & Ready 4 Cutlery Superstitions 4 The Opium knife? Our international membership is happily involved with “Anything that goes ‘cut’!” February 2012 Whittlers - Part 2 Roy Humenick In their day, whittlers enjoyed quite a bit of popularity. Almost all knife companies had a whittler or two in their lineup. Yet there is something about a whittler knife that sets it apart from other knives. Something more than just three blades set in a variety of patterns. It could have something to do with the knife being a functional working tool in an elegant package. Or maybe it is the various features that are unique to whittlers. With the exception of the three back spring whittler, all whittlers have two back springs. One of the things that make whittlers unique is that both of the back springs bear on the tang of the master blade. That is, two springs ride on the tang of only one blade. The two smaller blades at the other end of the knife each ride on one of the two back springs. Getting the spring tension just right for each of the smaller blades may result in too much tension for the master blade. This is one of the challenges for the whittler maker who tries to balance the spring Cactus made whittler tensions for all three blades. Quite often one will find whittlers with half stop tang configurations for both of the small blades and no half stop used for the master blade.

  • The Lakewood High Serial Killer
THE NIGHTSTALKER: THE LAKEWOOD HIGH SERIAL KILLER 1 A Large populated, academic high school with extremely aggressive kids, was targeted by a vengeful, hooded mask serial killer call the Nightstalker. The principal of the school attempts to deal with the aggressive and unethical behavior of students, including a white supremacist group, by delegating six gifted and athletic students who were just as aggressive to contend with the serious problems. The six super athletic females, who were seniors, vowed to clear the school aggressive and corrupt students. They uncovered a conspiracy by a white supremacist group to terminate the small number of African Americans studentsfrom the school at any cost. The sinister Nightstalker stalks and blows away victims of the school with a 44 magnum at a certain hour of the night. The killer only leftgruesome bodies, but no otherevidence or clues, making it very difficult for law enforcements to apprehend the perpetrator, which propelled the school and city into a terrifying panic. The police department was suffering from budget woes, and had only two detectives assign to the most gruesomemurders ever to occur in the city;theywere Linda Russo and Jackie Williams. Their work was cut out for them, investigating the serious situations at Lakewood High at times, and tracking the illusive Nightstalker at night. Linda Russobelieves that the gruesome killings were somehow connected to the 1990Nightstalker killings in her hometown in Michigan in which a relative was a victim. 2 O N E Linda Russo, a homicide detective arrives, to a house that sat on the corner to investigate a murder.Four other units had already arrived asshe departed from her gray Crown Victoria and entered the house.

KIM IL SUNG WORKS 45 Reminiscences With the Century 1 (April 1912–May 1930) FOREIGN LANGUAGES PUBLISHING HOUSE PYONGYANG, KOREA Juche 96 (2007) Translation from the preceding page: Revolutionaries, believe in the people and rely on them at all times and you shall always emerge victorious; if you are forsaken by them, you will always fail. Let this be your maxim in your life and struggle. Kim Il Sung PREFACE It is extremely moving for a man to look back on his past in his latter years. People lead different lives and their experiences are varied, so it is with different feelings that they look back on their past. I look back on my life with deep emotion and I have strong memories as an ordinary man and as a politician who has served his country and people. The country and people I have served always occupied an important position in world politics. I was born in the first period of the country’s ruin in the great national tragedy and spent the early years of my life in the vortex of the rapidly-changing situation at home and abroad, and I came to join my fortune with that of the country and share good times and bad with the people in my childhood. Following this path, I have now reached 80 years of age. My whole life, which has flowed with the current of the 20th century when the life of mankind has undergone unprecedented vicissitudes and the political map of the world has changed beyond recognition, is the epitome of the history of my country and my people.
