Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) constitutes one of the founding principles of Aegean Motorway. All our key Activities since the establishment of the company have been constructed and put in operation on the basis of CSR. Profitability and Social Accountability constitute parallel Processes of our business practice towards our Vision and Mission.

The Management of the Company is firmly orientated towards identifying the needs and detecting the expectations of the wider Social Environment, in which it operates. Particular emphasis is given to Employees, Permanent Contractors and Suppliers, local Agencies, Municipalities and Regions, as well as the wider Environment the Motorway crosses, the Shareholders and the State.

The main scope of the Company is the constant upgrade of road safety, which we promote via focused interventions and actions for our employees and the wider society. One of the key elements of our corporate philosophy is to ensure that drivers on the Motorway are satisfied with the services provided by Aegean Motorway. Of course, there are more to do, however we are confident we are moving in the right direction having developed and installed integrated management systems, including – among others - services quality management and motorway safety management systems. These Systems ensure high quality of services and, in combination with patrols and maintenance services, provide added value to Road Safety.

Corporate Social Responsibility. An essential goal of ours is to operate above and beyond the environmental legislation as Dimitrios Gatsonis regards the preservation and protection of Chief Executive Officer the natural environment. We conducted noise measurements, reviewed the effectiveness of the rockfall protection measures at Tembi Valley and calculated for the first time the gas emissions from our activities.

As regards society, we offered support to schools and socially vulnerable social groups; we sponsored student events and conferences; we restored problems in Skopelos - an island tested by never-seen-before extreme weather conditions; we raised awareness on road safety in the areas we are active in; we welcomed university students in our project.

Recently, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development have become matters of great significance. We included them in the corporate strategy of Aegean Motorway primarily because they benefit societies in the area the company is active in, as well as all stakeholders.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT | Message 5 CSR Specialist’s Message
