Our grape-producers work with a smile, keen eye and dedication in a region that lingers in the heart. Cantina Valpolicella Negrar is historic cooperative winery with 230 members: families who work under the guidance of a highly qualified team as they live and breathe the poetry of a region that has been farmed with love for generations, the fruit of which becomes wine imbued with history and passion. Our work, however, is not merely growing grapes and making wine, as we have always conducted research alongside institutes and universities in a bid to use the latest technology to combine increasingly better quality with a lovingly crafted product. All the work in our vineyards is carried out by hand in order to leave the local environment and its biodiversity unharmed, continue the winemaking tradition of the Valpolicella Classica region, and be the driving force behind both social and cooperative projects. With great pride, generations of grape-producers have tended their vineyards and handed down the region's history and culture on behalf of Cantina Valpolicella Negrar.

  • Sample Essay and Outline for AWC
Sample Essay and Outline for AWC Sample Essay Question As you prepare to go on to sommelier certification, this is an example of what will be expected at this level before the sommelier certification where this question would require substantial more depth. The essays should consist of no less than: a clear introduction followed by the main statements/thesis and a proper conclusion in the 700-900-word range. Compare and contrast Valpolicella DOC and Amarone della Valpolicella DOC. Consider in your response issues of history, location and geography, soil, grape variety, viticulture, vinification, and wine style. Writing the Essay After developing a brief outline, you will conclude that while Valpolicella and Amarone are derived from the same vineyards and therefore share soils, climate, viticultural techniques and grape varieties, they differ in their vinification. A statement regarding this will be your thesis. We provide two essay samples for this question. The first speaks to all of the required elements of the question and would, therefore, receive full marks: ten points out of a possible ten. Essays which receive full marks demonstrate clear comprehension of the issue and display that comprehension in a logical, coherent way. The second is missing several required elements and would receive only six points out of a possible ten. You should notice that at the sommelier certification, we will expect students to possess far deeper knowledge of some of the variations and issues affecting the relationship between the DOCs if this questions was posed. Essay (10 Point) Though Valpolicella and Amarone della Valpolicella are derived from the same geographical area, the wines are radically different in style.

PETER DRY Valpolicella, Italy PETER DRY Vineyards of the World Pergola veronese. ALPOLICELLA is part of the Veneto Region of north vineyards are mainly located in the Classico and Valpantena east Italy. Perhaps more than 100 years ago, this zones. The Classico zone (12 km × 8 km) takes up the western V may have been a picturesque region. Today, portion of Valpolicella, close to Lake Garda, whereas unfortunately, the panoramic view of the vineyards, from the Valpantena is in the east. The Classico zone is made up of foothills of the Lesini Mountains to the north, is spoilt in three main valleys: from west to east, Fumane, Marano and many places by a patchwork of unattractive industrial Negrar. All are open to the north and thus cool winds funnel development. Valpollicella literally means ‘valley of many down from the mountains. Fumane is the most open valley cellars’. This part of Italy is best known for production of and produces the ripest fruit. Marano is the most narrow, with large volumes of relatively cheap wine, both dry red wine fewer desirable southerly aspects. Negrar has some of the best (known as Valpollicella) or dry white (known as Soave). sites, but this positive aspect is offset by the higher proportion However, as a quality region, the reputation of Valpolicella of the lesser quality Molinara variety.
