This is the fifth time this season it has happened (Myslowice, Rome, Stavanger, Moscow). In the first five years in Klagenfurt, one country had two teams on the podium, but this will mark the fifth time in the last six years that three different countries will be atop the podium.  Three of the four semifinal teams have won a title this season, with only China’s Chen Xue and Xi Zhang looking for their first gold medal of the year. In fact, Brazil, The and the United States are the only three countries to win a gold this season.  Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh are the only one of the four teams to have won a Grand Slam this season, winning in both Beijing and Moscow.
