It has been working and achieving positive impacts in rural areas in and around Madurai for the past eight years. So far, it has trained above 2000 students through educational activities. Students those who have interest in science have developed as “Junior Scientists” and students those who have interest in Arts have developed as “Little Stars”. At same time various training courses were organized for teaching professionals and the public to empower them in their relevant activities. Further, VERGAL is working together with various organizations having same wave length to serve better on National and International Conferences. And Publication division of VERGAL has published around 15 Books in different disciplines. On this basis, now we are happy to publish an International Journal of multidisciplinary researches. Research should be at the core and must be instrumental in generating a major interface with the academic world. It must provide a new theoretical frame work that enable reassessment and refinement of current practices and thinking. This may result in a fundamental discovery and an extension of the knowledge acquired. Research is meant to establish or confirm facts, reaffirm the results of previous works, solve new or existing problems, support theorems; or develop new theorems. It empowers the faculty and students for an in-depth approach in research. It has the potential to enhance the consultancy capabilities of the researcher. In short, conceptually and thematically an active attempt to provide these types of common platforms on educational reformations through research has become the main objective of this Journal. The papers should be research based or related, be original and comprise previously unpublished material.Papers must send an abstract of the paper not exceeding 300 words, papers should be typed in MS Word Format with font size 12 Times New Roman. The full paper must not exceed 3000 words, including tables and references. The manuscript should be organized to have Title page, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Material & Methods, Findings & Results, Interpretation & Discussion and Conclusion. All quoted, reproduced material should be categorically referenced. Other than this, all contents should be original – authors own words, ideas, findings and arguments. Tables and figures should appear in the document near / after where they are referenced in the text.Photographs must be sharp, and exhibit good contrast.All figures and tables must have a caption that is intelligible without reference to the text. Rapid urbanization, a growing population, and mismanagement are major driving forces be- hind these groundwater issues. Thus, increasing problems of water scarcity and water-quality deterioration threaten the sustainability of the water supply. This necessitates the development of novel approaches to assess prevailing groundwater quality scenarios at a large scale, which can help protect this vital freshwater resource from contamination. In this study, for the first time, the effectiveness of three Geographical Information System (GIS)-based Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) models (i.e., ‘Unit Weight’, ‘Rank Sum’, and ‘Analytic Hierarchy Process’) was explored for predicting groundwater quality in a river basin of Southern India. PATGIRI1 AND DHIRAJSINGH SUMERSINGH RAJPUT2 Department of RS & BK, I.P.G.T. & R.A., Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar-361 008 Gujarat (India) Abstract:Literature survey is most essential backbone of the any research work. Critical review helps in understanding and framing an idea about the subject to be dealt. It deals with everything right from the past to the present, related to the subject and a clear picture of subject matter. Hence, for the complete knowledge of the subject, it is necessary to trace out its historical background, which gives a tangible firm in the development of stages from time to time. Bhasma’s are one of the unique preparations therapeutically used in Ayurveda and have been used as effective drugs for centuries without any noticeable side effects. Naga bhasma (incinerated powder of Lead) is one such preparation containing lead as a main ingredient. In present study critical review of Ayurvedic literature regarding Naga, various methods of Shodhana, jarana, Bhavana, Marana and various researches carried out on safety issue of Naga bhasma are described in detail. In this study it is observed that Naga bhasma is mixture of PbO Pb3O4 and contain either OH, (CO3)2 or (SO4)2 and (AsO4)3 group. The research work on acute and chronic toxicity study showed that Naga bhasma is free from toxic effect. The testicular regenerative potential study elaborates the aphrodisiac property of Lead.

Manimekalai Department of Economics Bharathidasan University Tiruchirappalli Tamil Nadu Submitted to Department of Women and Child Development Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India 2004 1 Preface This study on “Impact of Micro Financing on Women”, sponsored by Department of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, has been carried out in Tiruchirapalli district of Tamil Nadu, taking 110 SHG women from 90 SHGs. These SHG women were drawn from five different models namely NGO Facilitated, where the NGO acts as a linking agency in getting the loan from the bank, NGO intermediated in which the NGO acts as a financial intermediary, Directly Bank Linked, where the banks themselves forms SHGs, NGO guided but self – supported in which the NGO will be guiding in forming the group but will not entertain in either arranging for finance nor linking with banks. The fifth model is completely self-supported which has been formed and functioning independently without getting any assistance from outside agencies. The purpose of the research was to examine the model wise performance of SHGs in terms of access to credit, outreach, institutionalizing the credit, reducing the transaction costs, socio-economic impact created, the behavioral outcomes and empowerment of women in decision making affairs of family and society etc. At attempt has been made to understand the inter-relations among the SHG women, NGOs, banks and other development organizations, and their impact on the lives of women. All these have been done as to which model would sustain and would have long run stability and their implications on formal credit sector.

Future is unpredictable and black magic is superstition. Necessity lies in working for future rather than knowing it. Lack of intelligence is detrimental for a society. Astrology is not a science, Astronomy is science. Astrologers predict by the influence of planets and they create a psychological game. In other words they establish a perfect marketing and affect the life of an individual in every possible way. Superstition is still ruling and it is degrading the development. Almost 98 countries out of 195 are affected by credulity. Orating the scenario of ancient time and comparing it with the present arena, it is still not degraded. THE OTHER SIDE OF FREEDOM OF RELIGION IN INDIA Vipin Das R V1 Introduction Freedom of religion is considered as the precious possession of every individual from the inception of mankind (Harold E., 2002).2 Every modern nation in the world, in their Constitutions, clearly establishes the right to freedom of religion, belief, faith, thought, and expression of all these freedoms to all its citizens. Many a time, these expressions and practices attributed to religions, faith and beliefs become blind. Citizens or the people following such blind belief and faith on religion and practising so-called religious activities infringes forcefully the human right of others to live with dignity and status. The recent news and reports from print and television media reveals the truth that exploitations in the name of black magic are on the rise in Kerala as well as in India.3 Superstition- General meaning. The term „Superstition‟ is a complex term having no clear definition.
