Toerwagencoureurs van over de hele wereld komen samen voor eerste TCR SPA 500 GENNEP/FRANCORCHAMPS (1 oktober 2019) – Volgende week is het wereldberoemde Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps de locatie voor de première van de TCR SPA 500, de op zichzelf staande lange- afstandsrace voor TCR-toerwagens. Het vooruitzicht van een echte lange-afstandsrace voor deze snel groeiende klasse heeft rijders van over de hele wereld aangetrokken. Met Audi, Cupra, Opel, Peugeot en Volkswagen zijn er vijf verschillende merken in het veld vertegenwoordigd. Er zijn drie supportklassen: de Supercar Challenge, de Mazda MX-5 Cup en de Ford Fiesta Sprint Cup, wat samen met de TCR-race over 500 ronden of een maximale duur van 23 uur volop spektakel betekent. De TCR SPA 500 is een gezamenlijk initiaitef van WSC Ltd, dat de rechten heeft op het TCR-toerwagenreglement, en het Nederlandse bureau CREVENTIC, bekend als promotor en organisator van de 24H SERIES powered by Hankook. De TCR SPA 500 is opgezet als evenement om de TCR-toerwagenklasse in de schijnwerpers te zetten en de jarenlange traditie van lange-afstandsraces voor toerwagens op het circuit van Spa- Francorchamps nieuw leven in te blazen. De kans om op dit fantastische circuit te racen heeft niet alleen rijders uit heel Europa aangetrokken, maar ook uit verre landen en gebieden als Australië, Hongkong, Macau, Maleisië, de Verenigde Arabische Emiraten en de Verenigde Staten.
