ATHANAVUR, DT. TIRUPATTUR, TAMIL NADU. This is the third audited Balance Sheet of the Yelagiri Centre after being made an independent Branch Centre of RAMAKRISHNA MATH, BELUR MATH. From 1st January 2020, Yelagiri Hills has come under District Tirupattur in Tamil Nadu. Ramakrishna Math, Yelagiri is a completely new centre to be developed under the guidance from our Headquarters. The following pages comprise the activities carried out during the financial year under consideration and our future plan of action. We have also included some photographs, the History of this centre, the Donors’ list and the Audited Balance Sheet and other related details. We are happy to inform that the concerned government authorities have given permission for constructing a Sadhu Niwas and a Prayer Hall for conducting retreats for young students to inculcate in them our Culture, History, Lineage, Character Building, etc. The construction of Sadhu Niwas and Prayer Hall is going on in full swing. The construction plans have been given on page numbers 40 & 41 We are experiencing an escalation in project cost due to rise in cost of material. For this purpose, we need substantial support in the form of donations. Apart from the said building, given the hilly terrain, we have to construct a retaining wall for protecting the building. Proper roads are to be constructed with electric lights. Often there is no electricity, therefore we need to have a generator. Here there is scarcity of water too, so we have to construct a borewell. A boundary wall on open sides is advised to secure the premises in the forest region. All these expenses are over and above the cost of construction of the main building. We hereby appeal to the donors to contribute their mite for the purpose. We humbly appeal to all donors and well-wishers to strengthen our hands with munificent donations and support so that we can achieve the desired goal. We take this opportunity to convey our gratefulness to one and all for supporting financially and helping the cause in many other ways. WITH OUR NAMASKARS AND WARM GREETINGS, SWAMI BHAVARUPANANDA ADHYAKSHA 2 3 ACTIVITIES DONE DURING 2020-2021 (WITH A LITTLE LATER INFORMATION) 1. During April and May 2020, the Math provided ration consisting of 10 edibles, were provided to 900 families of Yelagiri Hills. 2. Cooked food was also served. 3. On 11th of August 2020, the construction of Sadhu Niwas and Prayer Hall was started and the work is going on. In about 15 to 20 days the ground floor roof of about 7,300 sq.ft. would be cast. 4. 2,500 teak saplings were brought from Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, Coimbatore, and they were planted in our premises. 5. The saplings are provided with water, periodically artificial manure, and removing the weeds at intervals. 6. In October 2020, a Concrete Bund was created to hold rainwater in the waterbody. 7. In January 2021, 79,000 cubic ft. of earth was excavated to hold more water in the waterbody for providing water to the 2,500 teak saplings planted in about 3 to 4 acres. 8. Just before Pongal celebrations in Tamil Nadu, we distributed 500 sarees to the poor women of Yelagiri Hills.
