Blessing of the Graves in Corlough on Sunday 12th August after 12:30pm Mass. We welcome all who have come to remember and pray for their deceased and hope you will have an enjoyable day. The Diocesan Launch of the World Meeting of Families will be held in St Ninnidh's Church Derrylin on Tuesday 21 August at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend and every parish in the diocese is asked to be represented. Every parish will be presented with a sapling tree to be planted in memory of the Pope's visit to Ireland. The ceremony will take the form of a beautiful Evening Prayer and will be followed by refreshments afterwards. World Meeting of Families Bus Pick Up Times. On Thursday August 23rd those availing of the bus organized by our local parishes will pick up passengers at Corlough Church at 7:00am, Bawnboy Church at 7:15am and Ballyconnell Church at 7:30am. On Sunday 26th August pick up for the Papal Mass will be at Corlough Church at 8:00pm, at Bawnboy Church at 8:15am and Ballyconnell Church at 8:30am. To secure a seat for Sunday 26th please contact Mary Corby on 087 7542234. Catholic Grandparents Association Annual National Grandparents Pilgrimage September 9th, Knock Shrine 2.30pm. Tipperary from Thursday 16th – Sunday 19th August 2018. For young people aged 16-35, an opportunity not to be missed to experience the Catholic faith and meet many new people, with over 1000 young people from all corners of Ireland attending last year. The festival is donation only. Free buses travelling from all around Ireland. For more info and to book online, see www.youth2000.ie The Irish Cancer Society offers a free local transport service for patients undergoing chemotherapy and attending one of the following hospitals for treatment - Our Lady of Lourdes, Drogheda, Cavan General and the Mater hospitals. A driver will pick you up at the door of your home, drop you off at the hospital and then, when finished treatment, will collect you and drop you home. This is a free service and patients may bring a companion with them for support. Cystic Fibrosis Cavan Branch church gate collection recently raised €128 in Bawnboy, €131 in Kilnavart and €129.05 in Corlough. Thank you for your generosity. Irish Wheelchair Association church gate collection amounted to €167.45 in Kilnavart. Swanlinbar Credit Union From the 31st of August the Swanlinbar Office will open from 10am - 1pm every Friday and Saturday. All social welfare, pension, wages and child benefit can be paid directly into your Credit Union account. Ballinamore Festival Roadraces Those intending to take part in the Open 10K and 5K Festival Roadraces on Friday evening next (17th) may avail of Early Bird Registration at the Sports Hall on Tuesday 14th from 7.30pm to 8.30pm at reduced entry fee. Registration for those plus the Under 14 and Under 16 Mile being run along with the other races is open from 6.00pm. Friday with races at 7.30pm. Templeport Social Services wish to thank Templeport Gun Club for their donation of €300. Your generosity is much appreciated by the committee and all who attend the Day Centre. Templeport ladies are organising a draw for 2 All Ireland Football tickets, or €200 and two other fantastic prizes. Often, no doubt, those venerable ruins are passed by wayfarers — unconscious of their interest ing history— who think not of the seclusion that falls around them like a mantle of peace and blessedness enveloping the placid waters of the lake.
