Oliver claimed not to have written any of the text, asserting here that he was merely transmitting that which Phylos revealed to him. In fact, professed Oliver, the manuscript was dictated to him out of sequence much of it backward so that he could not interfere with the outcome. In this classic of new age and spiritual literature, Phylos describes in rich detail the culture, politics, architecture, and science of Atlantis, as well as its demise. Since I first learned about this book's existence on a dictation many years ago, I've read this book many times, and I've enjoyed it immensely every time. On its own, even if regarded as a purely sci-fi story, I find this book a very entertaining and inspiring read. But the real beauty behind it is that its message transcends the purely "entertainment" aspect and truly contains useful, profound information that can help anyone walking "The Path". If you are maybe a little curious but not really sure if you should pick up this book, I'd ask you to consider a couple of questions: does your logical mind find reasonable the idea that there are "older brothers" of A Dweller on Two Planets who are interested in giving us a hand? The spirit known as Phylos the Thibetan dictated his story to his "secretary," Frederick Spencer Oliver. The story is about the past lives of Phylos, especially his life in Atlantis. He describes life in Atlantis and how the volcano there erupted and how people flew in ships shaped like a cigar. As a spirit, he also lived on Venus and describes the people there. Of course, you cannot live on Venus in your physical form, but it is the home of many spirits. Quite fantastic. It's quite long, and quite an interesting read Love it, though. It's descriptions of Atlants, it's government, it's transportation systems, it's land use, it's social structure--amazing stuff! Oliver insisted that a spirit being named Phylos gave him a true history of Atlantis via mental talks, visions and automatic writing, not a sci-fi novel. This book would be better placed in the esoteric section. This book is engaging and thought provoking, the one thing i got from this book was an awareness of how narrow my A Dweller on Two Planets of infinity was. The ancient mysteries that are currently turning the tide against historians, the mysteries that "Chariots of the Gods" and "Ancient Aliens" describe adequately, but in their hubris fail to explain, are explained in this book; but only as an afterthought in a love story. Except that ever since it was written, a lot of New Age devotees believe this to be a work of non-fiction disguised as fiction, sort of like a metaphysical "Primary Colors. This book represents one of the absolute greatest texts this world has been privileged to receive. Oh that there were more who would discover its treasures. If I believed in reincarnation, I'd maybe see this book as a nice, if overly dramatic, allegory. The epilogue certainly makes sense. But the sheer amount of people believing this is a true story is hilarious. That copy was published by the same people who published my copy of Vril, a publishing house that seems to actually believe in the veracity of the stories. At least with Vril, the author knew and made clear he was writing a fanciful fictional story. I don't think Oliver or, sorry, A Dweller on Two Planets thought he was writing fiction. The story is just so fanciful, it reads like first Earth year college fan-fiction. The author was 18 when he wrote it, and it really shows. The alleged predictions are just obvious. This book contains a wealth of revelations for the student of metaphysics. Secrets unknown to science, religion and historians are now mine. A Dweller on Two Planets - Wikipedia The book was 'channeled' by Frederick S. Oliver was born in Washington D. Yreka is just north of Mount Shasta, a huge dormant A Dweller on Two Planets peak in Northern California. Oliver started to write this book at the age of eighteen, inwhile surveying the boundaries of his family's mining A Dweller on Two Planets. He found himself writing uncontrollably in his notebook. He ran home in terror, where he sat down and let A Dweller on Two Planets hand write. These automatic writing spells continued for several years; he would write a A Dweller on Two Planets pages at a time. He completed writing this book inand died at the age of 33 in There are two editions which are substantially the same, except for a different set of typographical errors and hyphens although curiously the page numbering in both is identical. The version was used as the basis for this etext, as it was printed more legibly. Although as a literary work it is weak in many ways, the details of the narrative reveal a well-read and highly intelligent, if inexperienced, author. The plot and pacing is irregular; the characterizations are poorly conceived, and there are far too many melodramatic turns and plot elements left dangling. However, since this is a novel of ideas, these shortcoming should not detract from the enjoyment of the book. The real brilliance of this book is as a work of speculative fiction, particularly in the depiction of the high technology of Atlantis, A Dweller on Two Planets the afterlife.

    Mount Shasta Annotated Bibliography Chapter 16 Legends: Lemuria The lowly primate, the lemur, was named after ancient Roman mythological ghosts called 'lemures.' According to the Oxford Classical Dictionary, 1970, there was a Roman festival called 'Lemuria.' But the modern name of 'Lemuria' was named for the mammal lemur. In the mid-19th Century paleontologists coined the term 'Lemuria' to describe a hypothetical continent, bridging the Indian Ocean, which would have explained the migration of lemurs from Madagascar to India. Lemuria was a continent which submerged and was no longer to be seen. By the late 19th Century occult theories had developed, mostly through the theosophists, that the people of this lost continent of Lemuria were highly advanced beings. The location of the folklore 'Lemuria' changed over time to include much of the Pacific Ocean. In the 1880s a Siskiyou County, California, resident named Frederick Spencer Oliver wrote A Dweller on Two Planets, or, the Dividing of the Way which described a secret city inside of Mt. Shasta, and in passing mentioned Lemuria. Edgar Lucian Larkin, a writer and astronomer, wrote in 1913 an article in which he reviewed the Oliver book. In 1925 a writer by the name of Selvius wrote "Descendants of Lemuria: A Description of an Ancient Cult in America" which was published in the Mystic Triangle, Aug., 1925 and which was entirely about the mystic Lemurian village at Mt. Shasta. Selvius reported that Larkin had seen the Lemurian village through a telescope. In 1931 Wishar Spenle Cervé published a widely read book entitled Lemuria: The Lost Continent of the Pacific in which the Selvius material appeared in a slightly elaborated fashion.

    ABSTRACT The Great American Disappointment: An Introduction to the Great Disappointment Theory as a Way to Explain the Unique Evolutionary Processes of Socially-Guided Religion by Means of American Civil Religion Ethan Gjerset Quillen, M.A. Mentor: Douglas R. Ferdon, Ph.D. America is unique when compared to the rest of the world for many reasons, but especially so for its religion. To this, as human beings evolve socially, in the same way animal species evolve in order to seek out variable fitness toward survival, their religion follows suit. This has been particularly so in the United States where absolute religious freedom makes way for one of three processes of evolution within the American Church of Civil Religion. These three processes, Atheism, Fundamentalism and New Religious Movements, become the direction in which Americans evolve their religious beliefs in the wake of socially- guided religious disappointment. This Great Dis appointment Theory, based on the results of William Miller‟s Great Disappointment in the 19 th century, helps explain the means by which Americans, who act as individuals within an immigrant nation, are able to come together as a congregation within the American Church of Civil Religion. The most violent letters came from Reichians, furious because the book considered orgonomy alongside such (to them) outlandish cults as dianetics. Dianeticians, of course, felt the same about orgonomy. I heard from homeopaths who were insulted to find themselves in company with such frauds as osteopathy and chiropractic, and one chiropractor in Kentucky "pitied" me because I had turned my spine on God's greatest gift to suffering humanity. Several admirers of Dr. Bates favored me with letters so badly typed that I suspect the writers were in urgent need of strong spectacles. Oddly enough, most of these correspondents objected to one chapter only, thinking all the others excellent.

The most violent letters came from Reichians, furious because the book considered orgonomy alongside such (to them) outlandish cults as dianetics. Dianeticians, of course, felt the same about orgonomy. I heard from homeopaths who were insulted to find themselves in company with such frauds as osteopathy and chiropractic, and one chiropractor in Kentucky "pitied" me because I had turned my spine on God's greatest gift to suffering humanity. Several admirers of Dr. Bates favored me with letters so badly typed that I suspect the writers were in urgent need of strong spectacles. Oddly enough, most of these correspondents objected to one chapter only, thinking all the others excellent.
