Read Ebook {PDF EPUB} Gillian's Island by Cat Johnson 15 Fateful Facts About Gilligan’s Island. The 98 th —and final—episode of Gilligan’s Island was broadcast on April 17, 1967. Though never a critical favorite, the show was still a solid ratings hit and the cast and crew had every expectation of returning in the fall for a fourth season. But at the last minute CBS needed to find some room on the schedule for Gunsmoke , the favorite show of Babe Paley, wife of network president William Paley. So Gilligan got the axe and, at least as far as viewers know, the cast is still stranded somewhere in the Pacific. Forty-eight years after that final wrap party, however, Gilligan’s Island is still on the air. It was sold into syndication and has been broadcasting reruns continuously in 30 different languages around the world. Just sit right back and you’ll hear some tales of everyone’s favorite castaways. 1. IT WAS INTENDED TO BE A “METAPHORICAL SHAMING OF WORLD POLITICS.” One day in a public speaking class at New York University, the professor had students compose an impromptu one-minute speech on this topic: If you were stranded on a desert island, what one item would you like to have? Sherwood Schwartz was a student in that class, and the question so intrigued him that it remained lodged in the back of his mind for many years. After working for some time as a comedy writer for other shows, Schwartz decided to pitch his own idea for a sitcom.

  • GUNSMOKE TV CAST and DETAILS Premiered
GUNSMOKE TV CAST AND DETAILS Premiered: September 10, 1955, on CBS Rating: TV-PG Premise: This landmark adult Western centered on Marshal Matt Dillon of Dodge City. John Wayne turned down the lead, suggesting James Arness (who remained for its entire run). Originating on radio (with William Conrad as Dillon), it moved to TV in September 1955. Its popularity spawned a number of copycats, but none would enjoy the longevity (and few the consistent quality) of this classic. Airing for 20 years, it's TV's longest running prime-time drama (a record that `Law & Order' is currently chasing). Gunsmoke Cast • James Arness : Marshal Matt Dillon • Milburn Stone : Dr. Galen `Doc' Adams • Amanda Blake : Kitty Russell • Dennis Weaver : Chester Goode • Ken Curtis : Festus Haggen • Burt Reynolds : Quint Asper • James Nusser : Louie Pheeters • Charles Seel : Barney Danches • Howard Culver : Howie Culver • Tom Brown : Ed O'Connor • John Harper : Percy Crump • Dabbs Greer : Mr. Jonus • George Selk : Moss Grimmick • Hank Patterson : Hank Miller • Glenn Strange : Sam • Sarah Selby : Ma Smalley • Ted Jordan : Nathan Burke • Roger Ewing : Clayton Thaddeus `Thad' Greenwood • Roy Roberts : Mr. Bodkin • Woody Chamblis : Mr. Lathrop • Buck Taylor : Newly O'Brien • Charles Wagenheim : Halligan • Pat Hingle : Dr. John Chapman • Fran Ryan : Miss Hannah Gunsmoke Credits • Sam Peckinpah : Screenwriter Gunsmoke Directors • Harry Horner : Director Gunsmoke Guest Cast • Aaron Saxon : Basset • Aaron Spelling : Weed Pindle • Abraham Sofaer : Harvey Easter • Adam West : Hall

Bardo Zsa Zsa Sample First Chapter by C. B. Murphy And Nicolas Murphy “It is the modern Kabbalists who know there is always a remainder when a duplicate is made.” -John Durham Peters, PhD “Girls just wanna have fun.” -Xenu, Grand High Lord of the Galaxy 2 PART 1 Chapter 1 Gilligan’s Island Light suffused the room from a source he could not determine. It was happening again as it had happened before, but this time Russ was awake. The greenish glow made his vintage This Island Earth poster look prophetic, and suddenly there was nothing funny about the wasp-headed monster pawing the lead actress while flying saucers zipped across a background of exploding planets. Small creatures were definitely in his room. He saw one when it stopped briefly at the foot of his bed. The small humanoid had wrinkly skin, a lightbulb-shaped head, and large dark eyes that seemed to let out no emotion. He knew he should be panicking but surprisingly he wasn’t, assuming they had already done something to calm his brain. It amused him that Hollywood had gotten some of the details right, though the curious lizard-like creatures scampering around didn’t seem to be anywhere near Spielberg’s fantasy of interplanetary friendliness. Russ’ body and mouth were frozen by some unknown force that prevented him from calling out to his wife, sleeping peacefully next to him in her flowered cotton nightgown. Part of him was glad he wasn’t able to awaken her. This wasn’t a couple’s thing.

With his selection of characters -- the wealthy, the glamour girl, a brainiac, a wholesome girl, the misfit and the resourceful bull of a man -- Schwartz had hoped that the audience would find someone on the island with whom they could identify.
