INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OF NORWAY Oslo Chamber of Commerce WEEKEND SUGGESTIONS Week 39 HI EVERYBODY! New climate exhibition at the Ski Museum Be Prepared has a playful approach to the environment and the climate, and is angled specifically towards winter, snow and extreme weather. In the exhibition you can face a heavy storm, predict the skiing conditions in a hundred years and see what you can do to help the environment on a daily basis. If you manage to guess how long it takes for two tons of ice to melt, you could win a ride on the Kollensvevet zipline. Be Prepared has been created in cooperation with the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. The exhibition is open every day at the Holmenkollen Ski Museum. Photo: Skiforeningen USEFUL INFORMATION New prices on the Ruter card Have you got a travel card from Ruter? In the adaptation of the German director, theatre manager and writer Armin Petras, the story and number of roles are stripped down. The language is modernised to make the interpersonal relations – and also the humour – more obvious. In this production, director Runar Hodne suggests a setting in a nonconformist church in a Norwegian province, characterised by religion, nationalism and country music. God, country and the dream Photo: Øyvind Eide of America are central ideals – this is a place where idealism and fundamentalism can coexist and flourish. The production is part of the 2016 International Ibsen Festival. Performed in Norwegian with English subtitles. Click here to buy tickets. Using eight dancers and two musicians, Preludes and Shadows introduces you to three couples. Their stories are relatable and abstract, mysterious and pure, their struggles ironic. The performance showcases the technique, versatility and theatrical abilities of the performers. Featuring eight dancers and the Opera Ocrhestra's first violinist Catharina Chen, this is set to be an exciting, minimalistic "underground" dance performance at the Opera's studio stage.
