Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities 2014 AGM & Convention Newsletter MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Number 33 - March 2014 This year we are fortunate to have two hosts for the 2014 INDEX: AVICC AGM & Convention, the beautiful communities of Program Overview – Page 1 Qualicum Beach and Parksville. Breathtaking scenery, miles Workshops & Presentations – Page 2 of beaches, quaint stores and friendly faces will greet our Social & Networking – Page 3 delegates this year, promising a Convention to remember. Pre-Convention & Partner Programs - Page 3 Resolutions – Page 4 In 2014 we have a number of high priority policy topics Nominations & Elections – Pages 5-9 driving the program for the Convention, including a Logistics – Page 10 special plenary session on BC Ferries scheduled for Friday afternoon, and a presentation from Parliamentarian Secretary, Linda Reimer on Local Government Election PROGRAM IN BRIEF Reform on Sunday morning. We also have four workshop sessions planned for Saturday afternoon on topics including; Friday, April 11, 2014 climate change, community health, municipal infrastructure 8:00 am Study Tour Continental and private managed forest lands. Breakfast 8:30 am Deep Bay Marine Facility It is our pleasure to announce that Ms. Deb Grey will be delivering the keynote address on Friday afternoon.
