Student Senator Sad to Go Dear Editor, As I approach these last precious moments at GVSU, I cannot help feeling a little sadness that my four-year tenure as a Student Senator is coming to an end. As a Senator, I have been called power hungry, greedy, self- centered and non-christian. These comments came from this column in which I am writing now. In my opinion, it is because of this paper, the Student Senate has the opportunity to monitor the “campus climate” in order to produce legislation that can, yes, actually help the student body. The Senate is there for your input and complaints and we welcome all. I’ve sponsored bills ranging from microwaves in the Galley and Deli to lights on the south pathway to Grand Valley Apartments. To many peoples displeasure, I even helped install the Student Life Fee. The Senate is there to help the campus grow and be sensitive to the students needs, but without your input, the children, pro-quality of life,” (April 5,1989). The article between sexual partners.
