From an early age, YURY FAVORIN showed extraordinary musical talent, not only for the piano, the recorder, and the clarinet, but also as a composer. After studying at the Gnessin Academy with Lidia Grigorjeva, he went on to further studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow with . He has taken part in a number of competitions for young musicians and made a considerable impression as the youngest soloist taking part in the Competition in 2007. He has played in the great concert halls of Moscow and other Russian cities, as well as in Poland, Germany, Hungary, , Norway, China, Italy, and . In 2007 he performed Messiaen’s Oiseaux exotiques with the Ensemble Intercontemporain, conducted by .

KIM DA SOL studied under Kim In-Il and Lim Hong-Phil at the Pusan Graduate School of Arts before undertaking further studies, starting in 2006, at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig with Gerald Fauth. He has won prizes at numerous competitions, including First Prize in the Nagoya International Competition in Japan (2005), Second Prize at the Isang Yun Competition in Gyeongnam, Korea (2006), First Prize in the International Chopin Competition in Asia (2006), and Third Prize at the International Competition and at the Geneva International Music Competition (both in 2008). He has given solo recitals in Korea and Germany, including a Rising Star Piano Recital in Pusan, and has performed in the Junge Meisterpianisten series in Bayreuth.

At the age of eleven, PARK JONG-HAI entered the Yewon Music School, and later on the Seoul Arts High School, and the preparatory section of the Korea National University of Arts, where he studied with Kang Chung-Mo, starting in 2004. A laureate of numerous Korean competitions, in 2008 he won Second Prize in the Hong Kong International Piano Competition and the Nagoya International Music Competition (Japan), as well as a prize from the Japan Academy of Chamber Music. Last year he won Second Prize in the Dublin International Piano Competition. He has given a series of recitals in Korea (Young Artist Concert Series) and Japan and has also performed with the Bucheon Philharmonic Orchestra. SUNWOO Yekwon

SUNWOO YEKWON has been studying at the Curtis Institute with Seymour Lipkin since 2005. While still very young, he gave a series of recitals in his homeland ; he has since performed at prestigious European and United States venues, including the Salle Cortot in in 2008 and Carnegie Hall in New York in 2009. He has won numerous prizes in Korean competitions ; in 2008 he won First Prize in the Florida International Piano Competition ; in 2009 he won First Prize in the Interlaken Classics International Piano Competition in Berne and in the California International Young Artists Competition. He toured South America in 2007, at the request of the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation.

HANNES MINNAAR started to play the piano at the age of seven. At the Amsterdam Conservatory he studied the piano with Jan Wijn and the organ with Jacques van Oortmerssen. He has also taken master classes with, among others, Willem Brons, Leon Fleisher, Menahem Pressler, and Ferenc? Rados. In addition to winning a number of prizes in Dutch competitions (including the Rotterdamse Pianodriedaagse, the Prinses Christina Concours, and the Vriendenkrans Competition), he won Second Prize at the Geneva International Music Competition in 2008. He has given recitals in his own country, in Ireland, in Japan, in the Middle East, and in New York and has worked with a number of orchestras (under Frans Brüggen, among others) and ensembles, including the Párkányi Quartet. After studying at the Tokyo University of the Arts with Hitoshi Kobayashi and Katsumi Ueda from 1999 to 2006, TAKASHI SATO went on to study with Arie Vardi at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hanover. He has given many solo and chamber music recitals, with partners such as Yuzuko Horigome and Kyoko Yonemoto, and has worked with various orchestras, including the Tokyo Philharmonic and the Tokyo Symphony, the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Dortmund Philharmonic, and the Sydney Symphony. He has won prizes in many competitions, including Fourth Prize in the Sydney International Piano Competition (2008), First Prize in the Schubert Competition (Dortmund) (2007), and Third Prize in the Francis Poulenc International Piano Competition in France (2006).

Born in Russia, ANDREJS OSOKINS began his musical studies in Latvia, at the Riga Academy of Music, in the class given by his father, Sergey Osokins ; he went on to further studies in London, at Trinity College of Music and later at the Royal Academy of Music with Hamish Milne. He has won several prizes at competitions in Latvia and London, including Third Prize at the London International Piano Competition in 2009. He has performed in both of his home cities, in recital (including Wigmore Hall, Symphony Hall Birmingham, and Westminster Cathedral Hall) and with orchestras, including the London Philharmonic and the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, under Yuri Simonov, among others. After studying with Kang Choong-Mo at the Korea National University of Arts, in 2008 KIM TAE-HYUNG went on to study with Elisso Virsaladze at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich. That same year, he won First Prize in the Interlaken Classics International Piano Competition in Berne and won the Grand Prix Animato in Paris. He has given recitals in the Kumho Artists and Kumho Rising Stars concert series in Seoul and in Paris (Salle Cortot), Florence, and Leipzig and has performed with major orchestras such as the KBS Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre National de France, the Tokyo Symphony, and the Belgrade Philharmonic. KIM KYU YEON studied at the Korea National University of Arts with Kang Choong-Mo and later at the Universität der Künste in Berlin with Klaus Hellwig, at the Curtis Institute with Gary Graffman, and at the New England Conservatory with Russell Sherman and Byun Wha-Kyung. She has appeared as a soloist with a number of orchestras, including those of the Moscow and St Petersburg Conservatories, the KBS Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the RTE National Symphony Orchestra (Dublin). She has won prizes in numerous competitions in Korea and in the United States (including the Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano Competition), made a big impression at the International Piano Competition in Dublin in 2006, and was a semi-finalist in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009.

EVGENI BOZHANOV gave his first concerts with an orchestra in his home town at the age of twelve. He studied with Boris Bloch at the Folkwang-Hochschule für Musik in Essen and later with Georg Friedrich Schenck at the Robert Schumann Musikhochschule in Düsseldorf. He has been a laureate of numerous competitions since 1996. In 2008 he won First Prize at the Alessandro Casagrande International Competition (Terni) and Second Prize at the Sviatoslav Richter International Piano Competition (Moscow). Last year he was a finalist in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and also won praise for his interpretation of the Franck Quintet with the Takács Quartet. He has performed at the Ravinia Festival (Chicago), the Chopin Festival (Warsaw), and the Trieste Chamber Music Festival.

CLAIRE HUANGCI began her studies at the Curtis Institute with Eleanor Sokoloff, before going on to further studies with Arie Vardi at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hanover in 2007. She won First Prize in the National Chopin Piano Competition in Miami in 2010 ; in 2009 she won First Prize in the Europäischer Chopin Klavierwettbewerb in Darmstadt and the Orpheum Music Prize in Zurich. She has appeared as a soloist with a number of orchestras, including the China Philharmonic, the St Petersburg Symphony, the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Deutsche Streicherphilharmonie, and the Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt. DENIS KOZHUKHIN began his studies at the Balakirev Music School, before going on to further studies at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid with Dmitri Bashkirov and Claudio Martinez-Mehner. Holder of a scholarship from the Banca Svizzera Italiana since 2004, he is currently studying at the International Piano Academy, Lake Como, with Fou Ts’ong in particular and with Menahem Pressler for classes in chamber music. He has performed on many occasions in Russia, Germany (Klavier- Festival Ruhr), Italy, France (Auditorium du Louvre, Salle Cortot, Théâtre du Châtelet), Switzerland (Verbier Festival), and Spain. A laureate in numerous competitions in Russia and Spain, he won Third Prize at the Leeds International Competition in 2006 and the First Vendôme Prize in Lisbon in 2009.
