School News “At Arakura School Kidscan Nitbuster Programme ~ We are very fortunate this year to be continuing with we focus on the the Nit Buster programme, thanks to funding from Kidscan. Civil Defence Supplies ~ We ask that each child bring a non-perishable food item for our Civil Defence food supplies. We are currently replenishing our stocks. If your child has special dietary requirements could you please label your child’s food item with their name and this will be separated from the other food.

ASB School Banking ~ Banking day is every Wednesday. If you would like your child to start banking you can pick up an enrolment form from the school office.

Sport Wainuiomata Inc ~ is putting out an inter-school, ECE and Kohanga Reo challenge to teachers, support staff, students and their families to represent you in the TriAbility Triathlon. The TriAbility Triathlon is an inclusive multisport event that supports people of ALL abilities and ages in a competitive environment. TriAbility supports participants with physical, neurological, intellectual and sensory impairments to compete alongside nondisabled people. TriAbility caters to people of all ages from pre-school children competing with their parents to those over 65+. We are expecting 200 participants at the event. This year for the first time we have a Super Sonic distance where parents and children can race as teams. Entry for this distance is only $10 per team (one child and one adult). The event is on Saturday 18 March 2017, 9.30am Start, William Jones Park, Moohan Street, Wainuiomata. This is a community event led by local volunteers.
