We are proud to announce that this year is dedicated to Sport in Lithuania. The conference was organized under the title “Global Issues and New Ideas in Sport Management” in usual plenary and parallel sessions addressing topics to: Challenges in the Global Sport Business Marketplace, Sport Management Education Approaches, Development of Industry, Culture or Cultural Diversity, Legal Issues, Governance and Policy, Financial Issues, Sport Marketing, Social Media, Human Rights Issues, Participation Sport, The Sporting Goods Industry, Sport Tourism, Hospitality, Corporate Social Responsibility, The Olympic and Paralympic Games, Industry Segmentation, Environmental Issues. Abstracts that received positive reviews by the abstract referees are published in this Book of Abstracts. We realized significant discussion and the exchange of ideas that will result, as they have before, in new ideas, insights, and research. We hope to see the creation of research teams whose work will result in collaboration of research projects whose results will advance the science of sport business and leisure management. On behalf of WASM Prof. Dr. Irena Valantine Chair, Organizing Committee Lithuanian Sports University 5 Global Issues and new ideas in Sport Management KEYNOTE SPEAKERS 7 Global Issues and new ideas in Sport Management KEYNOTE 1 BIOGRAPHY Prof. Anneliese Goslin Anneliese Goslin holds degrees in BA(PE); BA(PE)Honours, MA(PE) cum laude, D Phil(PE)cum laude, MBA and a Higher Education Diploma. Her research and professional career focus mainly on Sport and Recreation Management and Leadership Development in Sport and Recreation. She has been instrumental in undergraduate and graduate sport management curriculum development on national and continental level. On continental level she has lead the process to develop and implement accredited university certificates in Sport Business Management offered via distance education in Africa. Her work in sport management research also included investigating global social policies such as the Brighton Declaration through a quality management process lens, evaluating the effectiveness of Sport Business Management programs on sport leadership and effective business models for soccer in Africa. She currently co-authors an academic book on international sport business management. She is also a co-editor of the Sport Perspectives series on International Sport Management of the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE). To date she has published 53 articles in accredited scientific journals, and has supervised 15 doctoral students and 21 Masters students She regularly presents scientific papers at national and international scholarly conferences and delivered a key note presentation at the 2016 ICSEMIS congress in Santos, Brazil. She currently serves on the executive Board of the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE), is Vice President of the International Association of Physical Education and Sport for Girls and Women (IAPESGW) and servers on the Editorial Board of the International Society for Comparative Physical Education and Sport. She has received many professional national and international awards in her professional career and has recently been included in the List of 100 most influential People in South African Sport and also received the distinguished South African State President’s Award for service to the South African sport and recreation industry. She is currently a full-professor in the Department of Sport and Leisure Studies at the University of Pretoria, South Africa a university that is ranked amongst the top 500 universities in the world. From 2012 – 2015 she was appointed as Chairperson of the Ministerial Advisory Committee for Recreation for the South African government. 9 2nd International Congress of World Associaciton for Sport Management KEYNOTE 2 BIOGRAPHY Prof. Dongfeng Liu Dr. Liu is a professor of sport management and Co-Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Shanghai University of Sport. He is a member of China Sports Strategy Society, a think tank of China’s Sports Ministry. He is also international professor or guest professor with INSEEC Business School, University College Dublin, Kufstein University, Austria, and EM Lyon Business School.
