EASTERN SUBURBS CLUB : AUSTRALIA 2017-18 EASTS DOLPHINS BACKGROUND

HISTORY Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club (ESCC), or Waverley Cricket Club as it was previously known, was established in 1894 and is now heading into its 123rd year. In that time the club has won 43 premierships and has produced 23 Australian international cricketers.

ESCC is one of the largest community cricket clubs in Australia, with 900 members. It is STRUCTURE one of the only cricket clubs in Australia that has both a Senior and Junior Cricket Club under the same Committee of Management, making it one of the largest single cricket clubs in Australia. The Junior Club is made up of over 750 children from ages 5-16. Included in this are 120 children who participate in our In2Cricket programs at Waverley Oval on a Saturday morning. The Senior Club has over 150 members across its playing, Life Members, past player members and extended member base.

The Club recently benefitted from an $18 million upgrade of its home base at Waverley Oval, FACILITIES which is considered a leading state-of-the-art cricket ground. Last season, Waverley Oval was voted Runner-Up in the Ground of the Year award for Sydney (Ground of the Year in 2012-2013). Full-time ground staff ensure the field and training nets are first-class facilities.

The Club has a strong track record in producing high quality cricketers. Recent ESCC players PEDIGREE that have gained international squad selection include: , , , , Sam Robson, , and . ESCC has also had many other international cricketers play at the club over that period, including , Bruce Francis, Malcolm Marshall and Geoff Boycott.
