She will give your “E – ticket” & luggage tags. Due to tight airport security, you will be checking in individually or as a family. 11:00a.m. Depart on ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS Flt.#183 bound for Tokyo Narita International Airport in Japan. In-flight meals: LUNCH: Main entrée’, Salad, and Seasonal Ice Cream Prior to arrival: Croissant Sandwich with mixed fruits Throughout the flight, you can enjoy complimentary soft drinks like ANA's Aromatic Kabosu (citrus fruit like yuzu) drink (includes honey), Kayanoya Vegetable Dashi Soup, other soft drinks, assorted beers, wines, sake, coffee, tea, and green tea. Thursday, Jan 23rd Welcome to Japan (Tokyo/ Narita - Okinawa)____ 3:25p.m. Arrival at Tokyo Narita International Airport. Upon arrival, immigrations and customs procedures are required. Please claim your own baggage, go thru custom on the 1st floor, exit & go to the arrival lobby area. Proceed to the SOUTH WING, 1st floor for your ANA domestic flight to Okinawa. After check-in, you will have some time to buy your snacks or bento to eat on the plane. 5:45p.m. Proceed to the 3rd Floor for domestic security check to get to your departure gate. Liquid drinks are allowed, please just show your drinks to the security agent, they have a liquid analyzer machine to analyze your liquids. 6:25p.m. Depart Tokyo / Narita on All Nippon Airways Flt. NH #2159 bound for Naha, Okinawa. No meals will be served on the domestic flight. 9:35p.m. Arrive Naha, Okinawa. At Naha Airport, please pickup your own baggage. We will then proceed straight to our awaiting chartered bus to HOTEL PALM ROYAL NAHA in Naha, which is located on Kokusai Dori, next to the entrance of the famous Heiwa Dori, open market, & nearby convenience stores like “LAWSON” & “FAMILY MART”. The hotel is less than 10 minutes away from the Monorail, Yui Rail – Makishi Station. Coin laundry facility & Ice Machine on the 2nd floor, so bring your own detergent and fabric softener. Public Bath House located on 2nd floor of Ram Tower, open from 6:00am-10:00am and 4:00pm -11:55pm. Friday, Jan 24th Naha – Shuri – Itoman________________________ 7:00-8:15a.m Breakfast at the hotel. 9:00a.m. Bus departs for SHURI. Shuri was the ancient capitol of the Ryukyu Kingdom. We will visit SHUREI NO MON and SHURI CASTLE. In 1972, “SHUREI NO MON” (Gate of Courtesy), a became prefectural cultural asset. Group Picture will be taken inside the courtyard of Shuri Castle. The next gate is the Kan Kai Mon (Gate of Joy), which is the main entrance. We will walk thru the Ishi-datami cobblestone road and stone stairs and through three gates before entering the main castle complex. We will visit SHURI CASTLE, which was the residence and seat of government for the Sho Dynasty, which ruled the Ryukyu Kingdom from 1406 to 1879. This beautiful castle was reconstructed over many years and completed in November, 1992. Shuri Castle was registered as a World Heritage Site in December 2000. 10:30a.m. Bus departs for HIMEYURI No To (Star Lily Memorial). The monument was erected in remembrance of the female high school students who supported the Japanese military as nurses but were killed during the Battle of Okinawa. We will also tour the HIMEYURI PEACE MUSEUM. 12:15p.m. We will have Makunouchi Bento Style lunch at YUBIDO, the restaurant/gift shop that is right cross the museum. 1:15p.m Depart for AWAMORI FACTORY “CHUKO” , the only distillery in Okinawa that creates its unique jars. The factory visit has an English video of Okinawa Awamori and you will be given an opportunity to taste different samples of awamori and umeshu (plum wine). 4:00p.m. Return to Hotel Palm Royal Naha. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure. Or Nadine will take anyone who is interested in walking around the famous Heiwa Dori and Matsumoto Shoten for famous konbu, dried shaved Katsuo(bonito), dried Shitake(mushrooms), etc. ( B , L ) Saturday, Jan 25th Naha – Southern Tour______________________ 7:00 - 8:15a.m. Breakfast at the hotel. 8:30a.m. Bus departs for the Southern portion of Okinawa. We will visit GYOKUSENDO PARK, which features a large underground stalactite, stalagmite grotto and an exhibit on poisonous Okinawa “Habu” (snakes). Upon arrival, enter Gyokusendo Cave. It takes about 25-30 minutes to walk through the cave. After exiting the cave it will lead you to the tropical garden and Ryukyu Village. 10:30a.m. Watch an Eisa dance performance by local students at the cultural stage, located near the 2nd floor of the gift shop (20 minute performance). 11:15a.m. Buffet lunch (Okinawan food) at Gyokusendo restaurant located on the 2nd floor of the gift shop. 12:15p.m. After lunch, free time to shop around, go back to the cultural village or you might want to see the Eisa dance performance again at 12:30p.m. or you could also check-out Dr. Fish inside the Ryukyu Village cost is 5 minutes for 500 yen or 1000 yen for 15 minutes per person. Dr Fish a recent fad in Japan, has the little fish eat away the dead skin of your feet, leaving the healthy skin to grow. Enjoy fresh strawberry picking & tasting experience in Okinawa. 3:00p.m. Bus departs from Gyokusendo Park for PEACE MEMORIAL PARK. Arrive at OKINAWA PREFECTURAL PEACE MUSEUM, which opened on April 1st 2000. The museum is divided into 4 sections: “The Road to the Battle of Okinawa”, “Okinawan on the Battlefield”,“Room of Testimony”, and “From the Refugee Camps”. Walk freely to the CORNERSTONE OF PEACE (Heiwa no Ishiji). Name is inscribed on a marble stones of each individual of people who lost their lives in the Battle of Okinawa. 5:30p.m. Arrival back to Hotel Palm Royal Naha. The rest of your day is at leisure. ( B , L ) Sunday, Jan 26th Naha – Ginowan – Shin Toshin – Naha__________ 7:00-9:30a.m Breakfast at hotel. 10:30a.m. Bus departs for OKINAWA CONVENTION CENTER in GINOWAN to see “MORI no NIGIWAI”, the performing arts festival sponsored by JTB Okinawa. Featuring 700 performers , see colorful costumes, Okinawa Shisas, Dragon Dances, Ryukyu Eisa, traditional Ryukyu classical music, and much more. AJI no NIGIWAI is being held in the festival booth area adjoining the event site, where visitors can enjoy Okinawa Soba, Okinawa style tempura, and other typical Okinawan dishes. Drop by before the performance begins. 11:30a.m. Door opens, we have reserved seats on the ground floor. 12:30p.m. Show will start on time. Mori no Nigiwai at Okinawa Covention Center 2:30p.m. After the show, visit OKINAWA PREFECTURAL MUSEUM in the new developed area of Naha City called “ Shin Toshin” new town. The museum opened on the first of Nov 2007. The museum is suitable for the 21st Century, raising awareness of Okinawa’s nature, history, and culture. After the museum, we will walk across to SAN-A NAHA MAIN PLACE, a shopping mall with supermarket electronics, boutiques, restaurants, and on the 2nd floor are: Daiso 100 yen section, men’s, ladies, & children’s clothing section, toy section, Hello Kitty (Sanrio) store, and more. 6:30p.m. Arrive at Hotel Palm Royal Naha, evening at your leisure. ( B ) Monday, Jan 27th Naha – Nago – Uruma City – Naha____________ 7:00 - 8:15a.m Breakfast at the hotel. Today we will go to the Northern and East coast parts of Okinawa. 8:30a.m Bus departs for MORI NO GARASU (RYUKYU GLASS FACTORY), here you will experience how to blow and make your own glass cups. 11:30a.m Bus departs for the east side of Okinawa overlooking the Pacific Ocean to Henza Island in Uruma City, OKINAWA KAICHU ROAD is a road on the sea spanning 4.7 kilometers (almost 3 miles) the largest of its kind in Asia. It is a beautiful scenic and naturalistic drive. 12:30p.m. We will make a stop at UMI no EKI “AYAHASHIKAN” at the beginning of the road to Henza. We will give you some free time for lunch and shopping at Ayahashikan. Continue on to MIYAGI ISLAND to the “NUCHI MASU FACTORY” (sea salt of Okinawa). Nuchi masu (salt) contains 21 kinds of minerals, which was registered in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2000 for its significant mineral richness. 5:00p.m. Bus arrives back to HOTEL PALM ROYAL NAHA. The rest of the day is at your leisure. ( B ) Tuesday, Jan 28th Naha – Ishigaki Island_____________________ No breakfast at the hotel. 5:50a.m. Transfer to Naha Domestic Airport for an interisland flight to Ishigaki. 6:15a.m. Check-in at Naha Airport at JAL. Be sure to check that you have your passport with you. After check in procedures, you are free to roam around the airport or get something to eat.
