Banca Antonveneta will be known as Antonveneta in branding and will carry the Contact Press Relations Press Room ABN AMRO shield, supported by the ABN AMRO endorsement. The shield symbolises reliability, tradition, protection and security.

In addition, Antonveneta will include in its marketing the tagline "Making More Possible," adopted globally by all ABN AMRO's businesses in February 2005. The tagline reflects the bank's commitment to supporting clients realise their ambitions.

"The rebranding of Antonveneta is a historical moment for ABN AMRO and our staff and clients in Italy, marking the integration of our two banks and our commitment to growing in Italy as part of our mid-market strategy," said Rijkman Groenink, Chairman of the Managing Board of ABN AMRO. "We have worked hard to ensure Antonveneta would join ABN AMRO and the change in logo symbolises this achievement."

"The branding of Antonveneta encapsulates the strengths of Antonveneta within its local markets in Italy and its global reach by being part of ABN AMRO. It unites our staff across the borders. The two names together will be a powerful brand in Italy," said Piero Montani, Chief Executive of Antonveneta. "Our next step is in servicing our clients even better as we benefit from our local presence and the international expertise and network of the Group."

The combination of the local brand of Antonveneta with that of ABN AMRO is in line with the Group's policies of building on the local character of its subsidiaries while ensuring a unified branding across the Group. The formal name will be Banca Antonveneta SpA and in branding it will be Antonveneta.

The new brand will be displayed, as above, in all branches across Antonveneta in Italy by the end of the first quarter next year. More than 230 branches already have the new signs. To support the new branding, Antonveneta will launch an extensive marketing campaign, covering all major television channels as well as almost 30 satellite channels. National and regional newspapers in Italy will feature related advertisements and a billboard campaign in major locations in , Rome and Padua will also run.

Since becoming part of ABN AMRO at the beginning of this year, ABN AMRO and Antonveneta have focused on aligning the two banks. In the next phase, Antonveneta is focusing on developing its service concept for both consumer and commercial clients as well as building the private banking service. In the consumer segment, for example, Antonveneta is piloting Preferred Banking, ABN AMRO's relationship banking service for mass affluent clients that it has rolled out in Asia, Brazil, the Netherlands and the US. In the commercial client segment, a specialist international desk has been developed to facilitate clients at Antonveneta aiming to use ABN AMRO's international network.

In order to mark the occasion today, all staff in Italy will receive a "Welcome Package" on their desks, containing a special internal newsletter about the rebranding, background to the brand and the tag line. Clients are invited to branches for drinks to mark the change in logo.

At Antonveneta's headquarters in Padua, special festivities are being organised at the offices and in the city, attended by senior local officials including Mr Giancarlo Galan, President of the Region and Mr Flavio Zanonato, Mayor of Padua. A newly refurbished branch will be opened by Mr Montani.
