Wintershall has expanded its technology center at its site in Barnstorf (Rural District of Diepholz) in Lower Saxony. "With the construction of a new central laboratory we're sending a clear signal for the future. This will enable us to use state-of-the-art digital technology to analyze the potential of oil and gas fields even faster, more precisely and more efficiently. This is German know-how for domestic production and our worldwide activities," said Martin Bachmann, Wintershall's Executive Board member responsible for E&P activities in Europe and the Middle East as well as global technology development. The new technology complex was officially inaugurated by Dr. Bernd Althusmann, Lower Saxony's Minister for Economic Affairs, Labor, Transport and Digitalization, in the presence of more than 200 guests and staff. "By expanding its laboratory into a state-of- the-art technology center, Wintershall is demonstrating its Wintershall Holding GmbH commitment to the Barnstorf site and to strengthening local Corporate Communications P.O. The technology center underlines the huge potential that digitalization offers for our economy – and it is also contributing to ensuring security of supply in regard to the oil and gas production for Lower Saxony and Germany," said Althusmann. Wintershall has invested a total of 5.8 million euros in the new technology center. The laboratory has a floor area of 2,700 square meters. The centerpiece is a micro-computed tomography (microCT) scanner that supports the 20-strong team in their analyzes. With the new high-tech equipment, Wintershall experts can create high-precision 3D images of cores from natural gas and crude oil reservoirs. An electron microscope allows resolutions down to the nanometer scale – that's one millionth of a millimeter. "This laboratory equipment is unique in Germany," said Bachmann. "This technology gives us a high-resolution insight into the oil and gas fields." The process is called Digital Rocks. Almost all projects that Wintershall implements worldwide are also supported from Barnstorf. The expertise of the technology center's staff is called upon for a whole host of applications, ranging from exploration wells to the final sealing of the wellbores. Each year, the Barnstorf Laboratory processes around 2,000 samples from all Wintershall production regions worldwide. With its comprehensive analytics, the lab increases the effectiveness of the exploration and production activities across the entire value chain. The laboratory's order volume has increased by about 30 percent since 2012. In order to meet this growth in the future, Wintershall has expanded the laboratory and developed it into a state-of-the-art technology center. Page 3 PI-18-32 "The new laboratory underlines the importance of Wintershall's expertise in petrophysics, production analytics and enhanced oil recovery," said Thilo Wieland, Wintershall's Executive Board member responsible for E&P activities in Russia, North Africa and South America. "The analyzes carried out in our expanded technology center will help colleagues in Siberia, Norway or Argentina to make the right decision when developing gas and oil reserves and to work successfully," said Wieland. Recovering oil and gas in compliance with the highest environmental standards and under various geological conditions worldwide is technologically very demanding. This requires a high degree of technological know-how and experience, which Wintershall is further strengthening with the new technology center. Wintershall Deutschland, which is based in Barnstorf, Lower Saxony, forms the center of Wintershall's exploration and production activities. It also provides important know-how on modern drilling and production techniques for use worldwide. The company has been producing domestic crude oil since 1930. It has produced natural gas since 1951. Among other things, Wintershall is the operator of the only gas production platform in the German North Sea (A6-A) and also has a 50 percent share in Germany's largest oil field, Mittelplate, which is situated off the North Sea coast. In addition, it also produces domestic energy around Barnstorf in the Rural District of Diepholz, in Emlichheim (County of Bentheim), in Landau in der Pfalz and in Aitingen/Schwabmüchen near Augsburg. Wintershall Deutschland employs 500 members of staff. Wintershall Holding GmbH, based in Kassel, Germany, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BASF in Ludwigshafen. The company has been active in the extraction of natural resources for 120 years, and in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas for over 85 years. Wintershall focuses on selected core regions where the company has built up a high level of regional and technological expertise. These are Europe, Russia, North Africa, South America, and increasingly the Middle East region. The company wants to expand its business further with exploration and production, selected partnerships, innovation and technological competence. Wintershall employs about 2.000 staff worldwide from 50 nations and is now Germany’s largest, internationally active crude oil and natural gas producer. Page 4 PI-18-32 At the end of September 2018, BASF and LetterOne signed a binding agreement to merge their respective oil and gas companies, Wintershall and DEA (Deutsche Erdöl AG). Subject to regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2019. Wintershall DEA would become the leading independent oil and gas producer in Europe. Denn es ist absolut beeindruckend, was alles in solch einer langen Zeit passiert ist und geschaffen wurde. Dazu wollten wir gemeinsam mit allen Interessierten auf unsere Geschichte zurückblicken und uns an sportliche Erfolge sowie schöne und lustige Zeiten erinnern. Außerdem sollte es am Freitag- und Samstagabend eine große Jubiläumsparty geben. Mit den Beatballs, Tobee, den Dorfrockern aus Oberaurach und Chris Knuspa hatten sich namhafte Künstler angekündigt. Alles war geplant, viele Eintrittskarten bereits verkauft. Sportreporter Wolf Dieter Poschmann wollte durch den offiziellen Festempfang am Samstag führen. Dazu hatten sich bereits viele Gäste aus den verschiede- nen Verbänden und Sportbünden, der regionalen Politik sowie Vertreter von befreundeten Vereinen angekündigt. Zusammen wollten wir das große Jubiläum gebührend feiern. Viele Ehrenamtliche haben in vielen Arbeitsstunden bereits viele tolle Aktionen vorbereitet. Darauf hatten wir uns wirklich sehr gefreut! Doch dann kamen das Coronavirus und die Covid19-Pandemie dazwischen. Daraufhin mussten die Pläne leider komplett über den Haufen geworfen werden. Unsere große Jubiläumsfeier muss in diesem Jahr leider ausfallen. Das bedauern wir sehr. EIN TEAM. EIN GEDANKE. Trotzdem möchte ich mich auf diesem Weg bei allen ganz herzlich bedanken, die bisher an den Vorbereitungen mitgewirkt haben.

Wintershall is continuing to invest in the domestic production of crude oil and natural gas: "We're sending a clear signal with our activities in Germany. Oil and gas from local sources have excellent prospects," said Andreas Scheck, Head of Wintershall Deutschland, on Friday at the company's traditional New Year Reception in Barnstorf, Lower Saxony (Rural District of Diepholz). Wintershall's largest German onshore oil field in Emlichheim is currently laying the foundation for a substantial development of further crude oil reserves over the coming decades, explained Scheck. A modern, high-resolution 3D seismic survey, which will be completed at the end of February, will allow Wintershall to plan new wells along the German-Dutch border. Emlichheim in Lower Saxony, which is one of the largest and most tradition-steeped oil production sites in Germany, has produced oil almost constantly for the last 70 years. "That's a world record!" said Scheck. Wintershall successfully completed a drilling campaign in Emlichheim in 2017. Wintershall’s Barnstorf site, which is the headquarters for its German activities, is also being equipped for the future. Wintershall is currently investing around 6 million euros in the construction of a new laboratory building, which is set to be opened in the summer of 2018. Every year, around 2000 international rock samples from all production regions covered by the globally operating company are processed here.

Da das Plangebiet bis vor einigen Jahren im Überschwemmungsgebiet der Wagenfelder Aue lag, war die bauliche Entwicklung von Düste und damit auch die bauliche Entwicklung der vorhandenen Betriebe in diesem Bereich stark eingeschränkt.     BARNSTORF LANDKREIS DIEPHOLZ NIEDERSACHSEN Die Samtgemeinde Barnstorf ist in der Mitte eines von den Städten Bremen, Oldenburg und Osna- brück gebildeten Dreiecks zwischen Moor und Wald im Huntetal gelegen. Mit ihren Mitgliedsgemeinden Barnstorf, Drebber, Drentwede und Eydelstedt zählt die Samtgemeinde 11.796 Einwohner. Mit einer Grö- ße von 205 Quadratkilometer entspricht ihre Fläche der Landeshauptstadt Hannover. Der Flecken Barns- torf, ursprünglich landwirtschaftlich geprägt, wurde im ausgehenden 19. Jahrhundert an die Bahnlinie Bremen-Osnabrück angeschlossen und ist auch heute noch durch seine günstige Verkehrslage der zentrale Verwaltungsort für das Umland. STRASSENBELEUCHTUNG WICHTIGE KENNWERTE Die ältesten Teile der Straßenbeleuchtung in der Lichtpunkte 1.426 Samtgemeinde Barnstorf sind bereits rund 50 Jahre Straßenkilometer 273 km alt. Die Anfänge gehen auf die 1960er Jahre zurück, in denen mit der Bundesstraße 51 zunächst die Haupt- Alter der zu sanierenden 50 Jahre durchgangsstraße beleuchtet wurde. Nach und nach Anlage folgten wichtige Verkehrsachsen und Ende der 60er Jährlicher Energieverbrauch Jahre auch die flächendeckende Beleuchtung in den 419.956 kWh für die Stadtbeleuchtung Wohngebieten. Mit der energieeffizienten Sanierung von Teilen der Straßenbeleuchtung spart die Samtge- meinde nun jährlich 6.982 Euro (bei 0,15 Euro/kWh) an Energiekosten für 155 umgerüstete Leuchtstellen und damit 25,9 Tonnen CO2. Pro Leuchtstelle bedeu- tet das eine jährliche Energiekosteneinsparung von etwa 46 Euro. PROJEKTBESCHREIBUNG Die Straßenbeleuchtung der Samtgemeinde Barnstorf bestand aus ineffizienten und veralteten Pilzleuchten mit Quecksilberdampf-Hochdrucklampen, Langfeldleuchten mit Leuchtstoffröhren sowie Kofferleuchten mit Quecksilberdampf-Hochdrucklampen.

Nach der Bahnunterführung und Hunteüberquerung, links auf dem Route nördlich von Diepholz hohen Ufer, sind Reste eines jüdischen Friedhofes erkennbar, bevor der Radweg an der B 51 wieder die Hunte kreuzt. Dieser Radweg wird durch Barnstorf bis Aldorf gefahren. Wer mag, kann in Barnstorf eine Pause zur Einkehr machen. In Aldorf angekommen, nach links in Richtung Rüssen abbiegen, dann über den Aldorfer Bach, kurz danach links abbiegen in Richtung Forst Markonah. Durch den Wald führt bis zum Ende ein befestigter Weg. Am Ende des Waldes, nach ca. 300 m, führt nach links ein Feldweg auf eine Baumrandgruppe zu. Vor dieser sich nach rechts im großen Bogen hinziehenden Baumreihe führt der Grasweg nach ca. 600 m auf einen befahrbaren Sandweg, der links abbiegend nach ca. 500 m an einer Hochuferkante entlang zur alten Huntebrücke (gleichzeitig Stauwehr) führt. Hier bietet sich eine Rast an. Dem Wirtschaftsweg folgend, an den Varenescher Fisch- und tour900000522_8000_1.jpg Quellteichen vorbei, wird die Straße Varenesch-Lahr erreicht. Auf dieser befestigten Querstraße nach links nach Lahr Tourbeschreibung abbiegen. In Lahr entweder nach rechts abbiegen bis zur Straße Goldenstedt-Barnstorf und nach links zum Ortsteil Die Radtour beginnt am Bahnhof Diepholz und führt in die Rödenbeck, oder geradeaus ca. 1 km den landschaftlich Bahnhofstraße und dann in die Grafenstraße. An der Ampel schönen und befahrbaren Sandweg über den Lahrer Bach links in die Hindenburgstraße einbiegen, dann in die nach Lahrheide fahren.
