The Cities Act [section 39] ______

CONFIRMATION OF CITY STATUS – CITY OF MARTENSVILLE The population for the City of Martensville is 7,716, as confirmed by the official 2011 Census taken pursuant to The Statistics Act (Canada). Therefore, the City of Martensville has met the condition as set out in clause 6(1)(c)of the Minister’s Order issued on August 26, 2009, incorporating Martensville as a City effective November 3, 2009. 1282 THE SASKATCHEWAN GAZETTE, june 8, 2012

IT IS HEREBY CONFIRMED THAT pursuant to section 39 of The Cities Act, the status of Martensville is a City, as incorporated by Minister’s Order described above; and IT IS FURTHER CONFIRMED THAT pursuant to: (a) subsection 24(2) of The Municipal Grants Regulations and clause 6(c) of the Minister’s Order described above, the Revenue Sharing Grant for the City of Martensville for 2012-13 shall be determined using either the formula for the cities pool or the formula for the towns and villages pool, whichever is greater; and thereafter, beginning with 2013-14 Revenue Sharing Grant, shall be determined using the formula for cities; and (b) clause 6(d) of the Minister’s Order described above, for all other grants from the provincial government, if applicable, for the City of Martensville, be the amount that would be paid to a city. CITY OF MEADOW LAKE The population for the City of Meadow Lake is 5,045, as confirmed by the official 2011 Census taken pursuant to The Statistics Act (Canada). Therefore, the City of Meadow Lake has met the condition as set out in clause 6(1)(c) of the Minister’s Order issued on August 31, 2009, incorporating Meadow Lake as a City effective November 9, 2009. IT IS HEREBY CONFIRMED THAT pursuant to section 39 of The Cities Act, the status of Meadow Lake is a City, as incorporated by Minister’s Order described above; and IT IS FURTHER CONFIRMED THAT pursuant to: (a) subsection 24(2) of The Municipal Grants Regulations and clause 6(c) of the Minister’s Order described above, the Revenue Sharing Grant for the City of Meadow Lake for 2012-13 shall be determined using either the formula for the cities pool or the formula for the towns and villages pool, whichever is greater; and thereafter, beginning with 2013-14 Revenue Sharing Grant, shall be determined using the formula for cities; and (b) clause 6(d) of the Minister’s Order described above, for all other grants from the provincial government, if applicable, for the City of Meadow Lake, be the amount that would be paid to a city.
