Well, on the way back to the very back of the convention center to get to the line, we saw a booth from a distance. It had in it one of the craziest things I’d ever seen. I could not believe my eyes.

In that booth, there were cars that looked like NASCAR® stock cars, but they were MY size. They were made for someone like ME. Can you believe it? It was the coolest thing I’d ever seen.

My dad wondered if they were toys. My mom wondered if they were cars that the Shriners® drove in the parades.

I just wanted to know if I could get into it and drive it.

That same week, we went to open practice at a local track - ! I was so eager to fire up my car! I suited up, hopped in the car, belted in, turned on the switch to start it up and… nothing. Now, my parents didn’t even change the oil in our own car so we had no clue what the problem was. There were a couple other minicup guys there with their kids who were nice enough to help and figured out that the accelerator cable was not connected to the engine. I was anxious and just kept thinking, “DISASTER!”

There was only enough time for me to get on the track once. I LOVED it. I felt like I was right where I was always meant to be going around that track.
