How to get to Czestochowa

Czestochowa is located by international route E75 (motorway A1). There is no airport in the vicinity but Czestochowa has railway connections with major Polish cities.

The distance from Czestochowa to Warsaw is about 220 km, to Krakow about 140 km and about 80 km to Katowice.

1. The closest airport, Katowice – Pyrzowice [https://www.katowice- airport.com/en], is located 60 km from the town. From this airport you can get to Czestochowa by taxi cab or private minibus [Example: http://www.pyrzowiceekspres.pl/en]. Alternatively, you can get to Katowice where bus lines and trains to Czestochowa are available. Car rentals are also available in Katowice. When choosing bus service from Katowice to Czestochowa it is worth remembering that service providers use different departure stations. The fare from Katowice is around PLN 15 and the trip takes about one hour and twenty minutes.

2. If you arrive at Warsaw Chopin Airport [https://www.lotnisko- chopina.pl/en/index.html], there are train connections that will take you to Dworzec Centralny (Central Station). From this place you can take a train to Czestochowa [https://www.intercity.pl/en/]. The train trip from Warszawa takes about two hours.

3. From Krakow Airport [http://www.krakowairport.pl/en/] you should take a bus or train to “Dworzec Głowny (Main Station)” and from them take a train to Czestochowa [https://www.intercity.pl/en/]. The trip will take about one hour and half.

Czestochowa main station is located in the centre of town, about 2 km from Jasna Gora Monastery and few meters from different hotels and hostels and the meeting place from INBIE.

Czestochowa public transport comprises 3 tram lines and 24 city bus lines. There are also night bus lines (http://www.mpk.czest.pl/en ). A single ticket costs PLN 3 and 45-minute ticket allowing transfers costs PLN 3.40. Several taxi corporations operate in town. Taxi cab can be ordered by phone and, with some corporations, by text message. The fare for the trip from train station to Jasna Gora Monastery is about PLN 15.
