The St Patrick’s Priest visiting our parish will be Father John Garry. Fr John is from Ireland and celebrated his golden jubilee as a priest last year. He has worked in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and now in the UK. The Society was founded to support the missionary work of proclaiming the Good News in Nigeria where the people responded with unimaginable enthusiasm. In the Nigerian mission, they were accompanied by lay and religious partners who made medicine and education an integral part of their mission approach to the local church. The Number of students to join St. Patrick’s increased quickly and Rome asked the St Patrick’s Society to take up missions in Kenya and later in Brazil. Propelled by the spirit of our motto ‘Caritas Christi Urget Nos’ (The love of Christ urges us on: 2 Cor 5:14); The Society now has missionaries in Nigeria, Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, South Sudan, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Brazil and Grenada. There will be a second collection next weekend. Thank you. http://www.kilteganfathers.org Lent Talks in Local Missionary Area 9 (LMA9). The 20th Century Church & Theology.
