For this eighth edition, Jazz Brugge is broadening its horizons, but without of course abandoning its tried and scene is very different nowadays. More than ever, the genre is incorporating elements from outside its usual spheres, both geographical and musical. And as a result it is evolving organically. With its theme of ‘Crossing Cultures’, Jazz Brugge 2018 highlights this evolution. Under the title ‘Dancing Down Under’, we present the best of our antipodes’ dance scene, featuring new creations by internationally renowned choreographers (Garry Stewart, Lucy Guerin, Anouk van Dijk, Meryl Tankard and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui), but also projects and artists that have a unique voice (Chunky Move, Dancenorth, Serge Aimé Coulibaly and Marrugeku).
