Paderewski, l'idole des Années Folles. Balland, 1984. E. L. 1. — Allô, Mardochée ? Ça va ? — Oui, ça va... — Et ton film, alors... tu es content? — Très content. On va faire 180000 entrées à Paris cette semaine. — Et ton problème de chèque? Tu as réglé ton problème de chèque ? — Oui, oui. -

At the close of the 1971-72 fiscal year on August 31, the University of the Pacific Board of Regents were pleased to report that Pacific had completed the year with a slight operating surplus and projected a balanced budget for the 1972-73 year. The investors in the University listed on the following pages were responsible in a large measure for Pacific completing its fiscal year in the black. Their record-setting generosity totaled more than $2,000,000, of which over $800,000 went for general operating expenses. These are the highest totals in recent years and reflect the concern many have for the future of private higher education. -

The thriller is directed by Tomas Alfredson (Let the Right One In). The screenplay adaptation is by the writing team of Bridget O‘Connor & Peter Straughan. The time is 1973. The Cold War of the mid-20th Century continues to damage international relations. Britain‘s Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), a.k.a. MI6 and code-named the Circus, is striving to keep pace with other countries‘ espionage efforts and to keep the U.K. secure. The head of the Circus, known as Control (John Hurt), personally sends dedicated operative Jim Prideaux (Mark Strong) into Hungary. But Jim‘s mission goes bloodily awry, and Control is forced out of the Circus – as is his top lieutenant, George Smiley (Gary Oldman), a career spy with razor-sharp senses. Estranged from his absent wife Ann, Smiley is soon called in to see undersecretary Oliver Lacon (Simon McBurney); he is to be rehired in secret at the government‘s behest, as there is a gnawing fear that the Circus has long been compromised by a double agent, or mole, working for the Soviets and jeopardizing England. -
Book of Remembrance Capuchin Province of St. Joseph
Book of Remembrance Capuchin Province of St. Joseph January 1In In charity, let us remember our brother(s) (and affiliates) whose anniversary of death occurs tomorrow. Pancratius Spruck [ Pan -cray- shus Shprewk], who died at Mt. Calvary in 1886, at age 18, after four months in the Scholasticate. Pancratius came from Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in New York City. He entered the Scholasticate at Calvary and was invested into the Third Order of St. Francis.
