Corruption is happening to our food supply and the information may seem a little bit discouraging and depressing but take an attitude that this is knowledge. EXCITOTOXINS:

Excitotoxins are something that had just in the very recent past become made more aware and that is due largely to Dr. Russell L. Blaylock, and quotes from Dr. George Schwartz and Dr. John Olney. All of them have done research into the topic of excitotoxins.

Dr. Blaylock has put out an interesting book which is called “Excitotoxins, the Taste that Kills”. It is a very excellent book to read to give you information on the subject of excitotoxins.

WHAT ARE EXCITOTOXINS?:

Excitotoxins are amino acids which in excess, cause neurons (nerve cells) to fire repeatedly, causing cell damage or death within 1 to 3 hours.

AMINO ACIDS:

Amino acids are chemical building blocks used to create proteins. Proteins are used by the body for a variety of functions. Some form part of the membrane of the cell itself, while others may be used to form enzymes, hormones and components of various tissues. Proteins are used throughout our bodies and amino acids are simply the little building blocks. Proteins can be very simple or they can be thousands of amino acids in size. Another way of looking at, it is kind of like the letters of the alphabet. We have letters in the alphabet that we can pull together and form words. Your body will pull together amino acids to form proteins.

EXCITOTOXINS-EXCESS AMINO ACIDS:

Excitotoxins are these little building blocks of proteins but it is in excess. The amino acids themselves are not the problem. The problem is the excess of these amino acids and what these excess amino acids cause to happen.

There are over 70 identified excitotoxins. The key ones glutamate and aspartate would be the two that probably you would be the most familiar with. Glutamate of course in the form of MSG and aspartate of course in the form of - NutraSweet. These are the most familiar forms.

Excitotoxins are causing cell damage or death within our brains within 1 to 3 hours. It is a very short time that this damage is occurring. It is occurring in the areas where we have learning, cognitive thought, reason, memory. It is the higher centers of the brain where the damage is occurring. It is very disturbing and that it will prompt you to make healthier choices in your food.

GLUTAMATE:

Glutamate is an important . Neurotransmitter allows neurons to communicate between each other. Glutamate is responsible for opening a calcium channel in the neurons so that calcium can move into the cell. The result is a number of important chemical reactions which stimulate connected neurons.

HYDROXYL AND ANTIOXIDANTS VITAMIN C, E AND BETA CAROTENE:

One of the products of these chemical reactions results in the production of free radicals, one in particular Hydroxyl. Hydroxyl when left unchecked can kill brain cells. Fortunately, the free radicals are absorbed by antioxidant vitamins such as C, E and beta carotene.

In a normal day to day living, there would be the production of these toxic free radicals within our bodies but thankfully God has a system in place which can offset that toxic by-products.

GLUTAMATE AND CALCIUM CHANNELS:

If glutamate levels become even slightly excessive, the calcium channels in some cells get stuck open, leading to the destruction of those cells and adjacent cells and that is where the problem lies.

SEIZURES, STROKES, BRAIN INJURY, DEVELOPMENTAL DISORDERS AND EXCITOTOXINS:

Dr. Russell L. Blaylock has this to say, “Today, virtually all of the neuro degenerative diseases are now considered to be intimately related to the excitotoxic process. Seizures, headaches, strokes, brain injury and developmental brain disorders are all intimately related to excitotoxins.”

Dr. Russell L. Blaylock is a neurosurgeon and from his own experience and research, he is stating that all of these degenerative diseases that are so common and prevalent in our society today are basically all intimately related to the excitotoxic process.

HOW DO EXCITOTOXINS GET IN THE FOOD?:

Why would these excitotoxins be in the food that we consume anyway? How do they get in the food? Why would manufacturers want to put them in there if they are going to cause such a problem in our bodies? It is because these particular amino acids are stimulating. They cause the brain to have an enhanced sense of taste.

BRAIN – ORGAN OF TASTE:

We do not actually taste with our mouths although that is where it appears that we taste. Our taste buds simply transmit a chemical signal to our brain and our brain then interprets that signal. So our brain is actually telling us if something good or not. What is happening is that these excitotoxins are causing our brain, tricking our brain to think that something or food that is normally would not taste good, would not be appealing to us, these are now suddenly very appealing.

Excitotoxins are amino acids often placed in such as diet foods. Diet foods once the or the fat is taken out can be very bland tasting foods. And so they would put these amino acids in, in order to stimulate the brain sense of taste. Therefore the body thinks that this is something that tastes good, we think it tastes good and we will continue to eat it.

Have you ever wondered about these diet foods? You can eat a whole chocolate cake and it only has 2 calories. Does it make you wonder? There is something wrong with that, something in the manufacturing process is wrong.

If you find yourself on that list, you should avoid excess free glutamate. It is something you want to stay away from.

If you see hydrolyzed or autolyzed in the list of ingredients, you do not want to consume it. They sound harmless but they always contain MSG.

Sodium caseinate or calcium caseinate often found in firm .

Yeast extract is the number one ingredient in seasoning. Anyone of those ingredients if you find them in labels, you want to avoid consuming them.

MSG is not something that is causing damage 10 years down the road or 15 years down the road. Damage is happening to your brain cells within one to three hours of ingesting the substance into your body. That is rapid.

MUHAMMAD ALI - PUNCH DRUNK AND CONCUSSION:

Now you might think that it should not be a problem if few brain cells die, what is the big deal. It would not be something noticeable for one time or a couple of times. When brain cells die that is essentially what happens when you receive a concussion. Have you noticed something about Muhammad Ali when they are interviewing him. He is very slow in speaking. He has a hard time forming his words and his thoughts. There are lots of difficulties there and that is because he is what is called punch drunk. He has been hit in the head so many times, having received so many concussions that is actually noticeable and they call that punch drunk.

EXCITOTOXINS AND CONCUSSION:

This is actually the process that happens over a course of time ingesting excitotoxins into your body. You may not notice it over the course of the year or even two years but as you continue to ingest on a regular basis, it is like receiving a little concussion everyday of your life and eventually that will become noticeable because it is affecting the higher centers of the brain. It is affecting our memory, affecting our learning process, our ability to concentrate.

HYDROLYZED VEGETABLE PROTEIN:

Also referred to as vegetable protein or simply plant protein. Made from junk vegetables which are unfit for sale and especially selected to have naturally high contents of glutamate. Remember the food manufacturers want you to have an enhanced sense of taste so you will enjoy eating these foods and you will continue to eat these foods. The extraction process of involves boiling these vegetables in a vat of acid. This is followed by a process of neutralization with caustic soda. The resulting product is a brown sludge that collects on the top. This is scraped off and allowed to dry.

GLUTAMATE, ASPARTATE AND CYSTOIC ACID- 3 MOST POTENT EXCITOTOXINS:

The end product is a brown powder that is high in three known excitotoxins- glutamate, aspartate and cystoic acid (which converts in the body to cysteine). These are three of the most potent excitotoxins. This is essentially what or plant protein is if you see that on the label. So especially check things like mixes and flavorings. Those are usually where you will find these high amounts of excitotoxic additives.

You should actually always check when you go into a restaurant to eat food if they are using any MSG in their food because that is a common additive that is used in the foods.

ADDITIVES THAT MAY CONTAIN MSG OR OTHER EXCITOTOXINS:

Carrageenan

Enzymes

Soy protein concentrate

Soy protein isolate

Whey protein concentrate

SOY MILK AND CARRAGEENAN:

Carrageenan comes from a red moss and it is used in a number of things. Soy milk is a very common place to find this additive. You want to check your ingredients list if you are consuming soy milk. Another place that you will find carrageenan as the number one ingredient is Emes gelatin. It is typically promoted as a vegan gelatin and the main ingredient is carrageenan.

Do not confused enzymes with digestive enzymes that you would go into health food store to purchase. Digestive enzymes are completely different from just enzymes on the label. If you are just reading enzymes on the label that is something you want to be concerned about.

A lot of people use the seasoning Brags in their products and has been promoted as a health product. It is a soy protein isolate. If you use Brags switch to Tamari that says on the label whole soy bean.

“The amount of MSG in a single bowl of commercially available soup is probably enough to cause blood glutamate levels to rise higher in a human child than levels that predictably cause brain damage in immature animals.” – Dr. John Olney

We really need to be careful about what we are putting in our bodies. The bible tells us that our bodies are the temple of God and we need to guard carefully what goes into our body. Our minds need to be protected from the effects of some of these additives that are in the foods.

EXCITOTOXINS-

MEAT ANALOGUE:

Meat analogue would be imitation hot dogs, imitation chicken bits and so on. These meat analogues are destroying and stimulating our brains at the same time. They are extremely dangerous.

The fall of Adam and Eve was due to appetite and we could fall into the same category. The devil knows exactly how to tempt us, get that appetite going. We try to do the right thing but we end up in a wrong place trying to do the right thing.

TEXTURED VEGETABLE PROTEIN –TVP:

The flour can be dissolved in lye and then treated in an acid bath so that the protein is deposited in finely spun threads which are then wound on a spool. It is then glued, colored, flavored and cut into meat-sized chunks.

The FDA does not require manufacturers to list specific flavoring ingredients on food labels.

MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE- MSG:

MSG is a known excitotoxin which causes brain cell damage of death within 1 to 3 hours after ingestion. In laboratory experiments, every species of animal fed MSG developed brain lesions. MSG is a highly dangerous substance.

PROPYLENE GLYCOL – ANTIFREEZE:

It is used to be common in ice cream. Makes ice cream so soft so it is not rock hard. It also works great in car engines.

Implicated in contract dermatitis, kidney damage and liver abnormality. It can inhibit skin cell growth in human tests and can damage cell membranes causing rashes, dry skin and surface damage.

May be harmful by inhalation, ingestion or skin absorption. May cause eye irritation, skin irritation. Exposure can cause gastro intestinal disturbances, nausea, headache and vomiting and central nervous system depression.

A published clinical review showed propylene glycol causes a significant number of reactions and was a primary irritant to the skin even in low levels of concentration.

LACTOSE:

It is present only in the milk of mammals and is subject to a genetic disease called galactosemia.

CARAMEL COLOR:

The World Health Organization said that the use of compounds in the production of caramel for food was unacceptable. It produced convulsions in test animals and yet the FDA considers it safe.

BLUE DYE # 1:

Causes cancer when ingested and malignant tumors at the site of injection. It has been banned in all the European Commonwealth Countries as well as Austria, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland, but it is generally regarded as safe by FDA.

RED DYE #3:

Studies on animals have verified that this dye is a carcinogen. This dye may be linked to gene mutation.

CARRAGEENAN:

Has cancer causing abilities.

DISODIUM INOSINATE:

Inosinic acid is prepared from meat extract; also from dried sardines. These ingredients are in vegetarian meat substitutes. Suppose to be vegetarian but it is animal product derived.

LACTIC ACID:

Produced commercially by of whey, cornstarch, potatoes and . It is caustic in concentrated solutions when taken internally or applied to the skin. Caustic means it burns. If we are ingesting this into our bodies, what is it doing to the sensitive lining of the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, large intestines?

We really ought to think. Just because it tastes good does not necessarily mean we should eat it. You go to the grocery store and you are trying to do what is right. You have a war going on inside your body. Your tongue wants one thing and now that you have an education, your brain wants something else. We know that war, it is going on inside all of us every single day. It is a fight. It is not easy to overcome appetite.

It takes determination and it takes really putting in the good and doing your best to stay away from what is not so good. Do not focus on quitting the bad. Add the good and add enough that you are full of it and then you will not require the bad or even desire as much.

POTASSIUM CHLORIDE:

Small intestinal ulcers may occur with oral administration. Large doses ingested can cause gastrointestinal irritation, purging, weakness and circulatory collapse.

A book that you may want to take when you do grocery shopping is Consumer’s Guide to Food Additives by Ruth Winters. Take this book with you when you go shopping. It will take you a long time to get your groceries because you will read every label but eventually you start to become familiar with those things that are harmful and just one look at it and you know right away.

Take this book with you, even if it takes you longer to do your groceries initially. That is OK, you will get used to the labels, you will get used to those ingredients and eventually it is going to become quite quickly to do your groceries.

A good rule of thumb is this: If you cannot pronounce the word, chances are it is not going to be good for you. So if you do not know what it is, you do not know what it is going to do, do not eat it because it is probably harmful to your body.

GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOOD- GMO:

Walk through the aisles of any food supermarket. Sit down to eat in just about any restaurant, school, cafeteria, workplace lunchroom, hospital, or airplane. Open your cupboards and refrigerator. Look at what is cooking in your oven, microwave or frying pan or what is on your fork, your spoon, in your cup or drinking glass…

You cannot see, smell, taste or feel the difference. You cannot read about it on food labels or restaurant menus, but you and your family are now part of a vast culinary and biological experiment – dining on an expanding menu of genetically engineered foods, foods that are unlike any foods consumed in human history. There have never been foods like these in all of human history as what we are consuming now.

At least 70% of our processed food contain genetically modified ingredients in them or derivatives of genetically modified foods.

SO WHAT IS GENETIC ENGINEERING?:

Genetic engineering is the practice of altering or disrupting the genetic blueprints (DNA) of living organisms, then patenting these altered genes and selling the resultant gene-foods, seeds or other products for profit.

Basically, what they are doing is taking the blueprint for life and altering it slightly and with that altered genetic blueprint they are putting a patent on it and then selling that for profit.

Scientists transfer an indeterminate amount of genetic information or DNA from one or more organisms, across species boundaries, into another host organism, to create an entirely new genetically engineered organism. This is something that has not been done before. It is new science that they are working with and it is not traditional breeding. This is actually crossing species boundaries.

WHAT IS AN ORGANISM?

An organism is made up of cells. Every cell contains a nucleus. Within the nucleus is the DNA of the organisms. The DNA is the intelligence center, a dynamic storehouse of genetic material. Like the manager of a company, the DNA is sensitive, alert to every nuance of activity and information all around it, absorbing, processing and responding to the needs of the cell all the time.

Most of the structure of DNA is very little understood. 97% of human DNA is non- coding for protein. It is commonly regarded as junk and it is ignored. Nobody has a clue what will happen if these junk elements are changed.

In the DNA, it codes for protein. There is a section of it and it has a code and it will make a protein from that code. That protein is then used in our bodies possibly as a hormone, possibly as a structure and possibly as an enzyme. 97% of human DNA does not code for protein (non-coding). Anything that is non-coding for protein is considered junk.

DOUBLE HELIX STRUCTURE OF DNA:

DNA has a double helix structure. It consists of two long chains that twist around each other to form a double helix which results in a gene being expressed. Scientist will find a gene that will produce a certain protein or codes for certain protein. They want that certain genetic characteristic and so they will splice that gene. That is the gene that they are going to insert now across species boundaries into another organism.

GMO-CREATION OF NEW ORGANISM:

Genetically modified organisms (GMO’s) are created by taking genes from organisms such as bacteria, viruses or animals an inserting them into other, often unrelated species. Unlike traditional breeding, genetic engineering creates new organisms that would never occur in nature, creating new and unpredictable health environment risks.

They will take certain characteristics from the fish and crossed back into a . If you significantly change the structure or the blueprint for something, it will changed the structure. If the blueprint is changed the structure is going to be different. They are taking the blueprint of a tomato and they are changing the structure of that blueprint so no longer can we truly say that is a tomato because it is now a cross between a tomato and a fish. It is truly not a tomato and it is truly not a fish so now scientists have created organisms that never would occur in nature. The part that is disturbing about this technology is this new organisms that is created has the ability to carry on and it can mutate and so forth. It is unlike traditional breeding where they would cross something and it would only have a generation and it could not keep on perpetuating.

HOW DO SCIENTISTS TRANSFER GENES INTO THE DNA OF ANOTHER SPECIES?

22 CALIBER GENE GUN:

One common method used to insert genes is to blast them into the DNA with a 22 caliber gene gun. Scientists first coat thousands of tiny shards of gold or tungsten with the foreign gene. Then they point it at a dish containing thousands of unsuspecting cells, and fire hoping that at least some of the foreign genes will end up in the right place in at least some of the DNA. This, by the way, is what the biotech industry refers to as their highly precise method of gene transfer.

VECTORS – VIRUSES AND BACTERIA:

Not only do scientists have to use this gene guns, they have to have something called a vector or a vehicle and they use viruses or bacteria because once they shoot the genes into the cell something has to actually take it inside the cell and start perpetuating that gene that they want to get inside the cell. They have something called a vector or a vehicle and they will use viruses or bacteria as the vehicle. Viruses typically get into the DNA of a cell and that is where they will start to change things.

GENETIC PROMOTER – CAULIFLOWER MOSAIC VIRUS (CaMV):

They also have to have something called a genetic promoter. A genetic promoter is simply a switch that turns the whole thing on because it is one thing to get this new gene inside the DNA but something is going to have to flip the switch and turn it on so they will start coding for protein. Very often what they use is something called the cauliflower mosaic virus. It is a virus and simply looks like a cauliflower. That is typically gene sliced into all of your genetically modified foods.

ANTI-BIOTIC RESISTANCE MARKER GENE (ARM):

Once they get this gene inside the DNA, they have to have a way to figure out which cells have actually been modified and which cells have not. They have antibiotic resistance gene that is going to go in there and now they are going to spray or cover the whole thing with antibiotics, the cells that die did not get the transfer, the cells that survive did. Now this new genetically modified cell now has antibiotic resistance within it. So, that is basically the little package (spliced gene, vector, promoter and marker gene) that goes into the cell to cause this whole thing to happen.

DOES SCIENCE KNOW?

To understand the effect of an additional gene on an organism, it is necessary to know in detail all of the ways in which DNA can change and the purpose of those changes in the life of the organism.

“Genetic engineers can cut and splice genes very precisely in a test tube, but the process of putting those genes into a living organism is extremely imprecise, inaccurate and uncontrolled. Once a gene is inserted into an organism, it can cause unanticipated side effects. “After years on the market, Monsanto (is one of the largest biotech industry) reveals that neither the industry nor the regulators actually know what genes are in GMO’s.” Charlie Konica of Greenpeace.

SUPER PIGS AND HUMAN GROWTH GENE:

One of the first early genetic engineering experiments illustrates the perils of attempting to transfer genetic characteristics from one species to another. In the 1980’s, the U. S. Department of Agriculture scientists transplanted human genes – genes supposedly associated with human growth into pigs. By doing so, they hoped to make the pigs grow faster, and increase their profitability for farmers.

Unfortunately, the outcome of these experiments was not what the USDA scientists expected. In one infamous incident, instead of the super pig they hoped for, the pig that resulted from this gene experiment developed into a deformed creature, one that was excessively hairy, lethargic, riddled with arthritis, apparently impotent and slightly crossed eyed. As if that were not bad enough, the pig could barely stand up, according to reports. – Genetically Engineered Food, A Self Defense Guide for Consumers

Scientist thought that they knew specifically what this gene would do. They removed the specific gene associated with human growth and they felt that it should have simply cause growth within that pig but scientists are not understanding the whole process of what is taking place and it is very imprecise as has been uncontrolled.

DR. ARPAD PUSZTAI:

Dr. Arpad Pusztai was a very well respected scientist. He practiced at the Rhode Institute in Scotland. He had over 300 published peer reviewed articles and scientific journals, very well known, very well respected scientist. Dr. Pusztai group received a large grant to study the effects of genetically engineered food. The idea was to study these foods to determine if they were indeed safe. Part way through research, he came up with some disturbing results that began to really concerned him. Eventually shared this with the public through interview.

Instead of the institute giving him honors for what he had discovered, instead of them recognizing what has been found and applauding the efforts that have been made, he was actually fired from his job. All of their work was confiscated, their computers were seized, their work seized, the doors were locked and he had a gag order placed on him. He was not allowed to speak about what he had found.

DR. PUSZTAI FINDINGS-

CHEMICAL COMPOSITIONAL DIFFERENCES AND NUTRITIONAL VARIATIONS:

He discovered that there are significant chemical and compositional differences between conventional and genetically engineered foods. There are significant nutritional variations or protein levels in different batches or the same GE (Genetically Engineered) food, likely caused by the inherent unpredictability of the gene splicing process itself.

DAMAGE TO VITAL ORGANS AND IMMUNE SYSTEMS OF LAB ANIMALS:

He also found that there can be damage to the vital organs and immune systems of lab animals fed genetically engineered foods, in this case potatoes. This damage to the vital organs and the immune systems happened in 10 days. This was not along a process of years. It happened in 10 days.

This is very disturbing because it has to make you wonder as you are consuming those foods what is it doing to your body, what is it doing to your vital organs, what is it doing to your immune systems. You need your immune system to be well and healthy. We cannot afford to be consuming things that will damage our immune systems.

CaMW (SWITCH)- HARMFUL TO ANIMALS AND HUMANS:

He also found that there is evidence that CaMV (the switch), gene-spliced into almost all genetically engineered foods, maybe harmful to lab animals and therefore humans. The actual virus itself, that little switch that turns the whole thing on, there could be harm coming from that to the human body.’’

THE DANGERS OF GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS:

1. Unpredictable permanent changes in the nature of our food- Genes from bacteria, viruses and insects which have never been a part of the human diet, are being spliced into our food.

2. Deletion of important food elements- Genetic engineers may intentionally remove or inactivate a substance they consider undesirable in a food. This substance may have an unknown but essential quality such as natural cancer-inhibiting abilities. They are not always trying to turn something on within the DNA of a cell. Sometimes they are actually trying to suppress something in there. This is one of the dangers that they may unintentionally suppressed something that are very needed for our protection.

3. Unanticipated negative ecological impact- A genetically engineered bacterium developed to aid in the production of ethanol, produced residues which rendered the land infertile. New corn crops planted on this soil grew 3 inches tall and fell over dead.

4. Newer and higher levels of toxins- Many plants naturally produce a variety of compounds that are toxic to humans or alter . Generally, these are present at levels which do not cause problems. Combining plant and animal species in genetic engineering may create new and much higher levels of these toxins. Corn and potatoes engineered to produce toxins that kill insects are now classified by the Environmental Protection Agency as rather than vegetables.

5. Allergic Reactions- Genetic engineering may transfer new and unidentified proteins from one food into another, triggering allergic reactions. Millions of people who are sensitive to allergens will have no way of identifying or protecting themselves from offending foods.

6. Horizontal gene transfer- In 2002 a study was conducted which was dubbed the world’s first known trial of GM (Genetically Modified) foods on human volunteers. Researchers demonstrated that a relatively large proportion of genetically modified DNA survived the passage through the human digestive system. GM soy that was present in the burger and milkshake fed to subjects at the beginning of the experiment transferred its herbicide-resistant gene to the bacteria inside their digestive systems. The transfer occurred after only a single meal. This means that the ARM gene (Antibiotic Resistant Marker) could potentially result in new and dangerous antibiotic resistant diseases.

Biotech tries to reassure the public and say it is not actually going to survive the passage through the digestive system, but they found that it did survive the passage through. These subjects ate one meal containing a milkshake and a burger.

The genetically modified soy in those products after that single meal transferred to gut bacteria. What happened is that antibiotic marker gene which is part of the package that goes into the cell is now in their bacteria within their gut. The promoter gene that flips on the switch, it turns the gene on 24/7. Now they have within their digestive tract antibiotic resistance to a certain antibiotic that is produced 24/7 in their bodies. We are now seeing more and more resistance to antibiotics and this could be one of the key reasons behind it.

rbGH (RECOMBINANT BOVINE GROWTH HORMONE) and IGF-1:

When cows are injected with rbGH, it results in the increase of IGF-1 (Insulin Like Growth Factor). Humans also have IGF-1 which is chemically identical to that which is found in the cows. IGF-1 is not destroyed by pasteurization. It remains intact in the milk we drink. If we are consuming milk from cows injected with rbGH, it is not the IGF-1 that the cows produced and it is not destroyed through pasteurization and so we are consuming that now as well.

Here are the dangers with drinking milk from cows that have received this genetically modified hormone:

1. elevated levels of this hormone are directly related to cancer in humans

2. white males are 4 times more likely to get prostate cancer

3. females are 7 times more likely to develop breast cancer

4. increased risk of lung cancer and colon cancer in both males and females

PHARMING:

One of the aims of transgenic animal research has been the production of additional proteins in the milk of mammals particularly proteins that can be used as a pharmaceutical drugs.

Goats, cows and sheep have been modified as highly efficient living pharmaceutical factories continuously producing drugs in their milk, within a new industry called “Pharming”. Some of the products of pharming may be sold as “neutraceuticals”, part food and part drugs.

The goal they are working on is that within the milk of these animals, they are going to be producing pharmaceutical drugs.

OTHER MODIFIED HORMONES- PORCINE SOMATOTROPIN (rPST):

Monsato may soon seek marketing approval for recombinant Porcine Somatotropin (rPST) for injection into pigs to produce leaner pork. Basically their goal is to control food supply and that we will one day all of us be consuming genetically modified foods.

HERE ARE SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO TO PROTECT YOUR BODY:

1. Buy organic food as much as possible

Try to support the organic . That industry is working to preserve our food supply. The food may be some times a little bit more expensive but the quality is going to be there and you will not be subjecting yourself to some of the dangers we have been talking about.

2. Ask your retailer to stock organic and non-GMO foods

In Canada, we do not have to label GMO foods. The government does not require GMO foods to be labeled. You can help educate your grocer as to the dangers that are in GMO foods and help to make others aware of the dangers that they need to be on the lookout for.

3. Write to your senators and congressmen. Write to your government letting them know you want labeling on GMO products.

In Europe, GMO foods have to be labeled. You can actually look at a label and it will tell you that it contains something that is genetically modified. Why is it in Europe they have the labeling and here in North America we don’t? It is because they stood up and did something about it.

4. Get the word out to as many people as possible

5. Continue to educate yourself about the foods you eat, continue reading and studying

SOME INGREDIENTS THAT MAY BE GENETICALLY MODIFIED:

Vegetable oil (soy, corn, cottonseed or canola), margarines, soy flour, soy protein, soy lecithin, textured vegetable protein, cornmeal, corn syrup, dextrose, malto dextrin, fructose, citric acid and lactic acid). Food additives, enzymes, flavorings and processing agents, including the sweetener aspartame (NutraSweet) and rennet used to make hard . Meat, eggs and dairy products from animals that have eaten GM feed. Dairy products from cows injected with rbGH.

Potatoes, tomatoes, corn and soy are the key foods that you would want to be careful of.

Infant formula, salad dressing, , cereal hamburgers and hotdogs, margarine, , cereals, cracker, cookies, chocolate, candy, fried foods, chips, veggie burgers, meat substitutes, ice cream, frozen yogurt, tofu, tamari, , soy , tomato sauce, protein powder, baking powder, alcohol, vanilla, powdered sugar, peanut butter, enriched flour and pasta. Non-food items such as cosmetics, soaps, detergents, shampoo, and bubble bath.
