This is an inventory of the vascular alien flora of Catalonia (northeastern Iberian Peninsula, Spain) updated to 2018, representing 1068 alien taxa in total. 554 (52.0%) out of them are casual and 514 (48.0%) are established. 87 taxa (8.1% of the total number and 16.8 % of those established) show an invasive behaviour. The geographic zone with more alien plants is the most anthropogenic maritime area. However, the differences among regions decrease when the degree of naturalization of taxa increases and the number of invaders is very similar in all sectors. Only 26.2% of the taxa are more or less abundant, while the rest are rare or they have vanished. The alien flora is represented by 115 families, 87 out of them include naturalised species. The most diverse genera are Opuntia (20 taxa), Amaranthus (18 taxa) and Solanum (15 taxa). Most of the alien plants have been introduced since the beginning of the twentieth century (70.7%), with a strong increase since 1970 (50.3% of the total number). Almost two thirds of alien taxa have their origin in Euro-Mediterranean area and America, while 24.6% come from other geographical areas. The taxa originated in cultivation represent 9.5%, whereas spontaneous hybrids only 1.2%. From the temporal point of view, the rate of Euro-Mediterranean taxa shows a progressive reduction parallel to an increase of those of other origins, which have reached 73.2% of introductions during the last 50 years. -

ABSTRACT Fruit morphology of the tribe Malveae has been discussed since the first taxonomic classifications of Malvaceae. The fruits are schizocarps, with some genera possessing an endoglossum. Besides morphological variation in the endoglossum, other differences include the number seeds per locule and ornamentation of the exocarp. An in-depth study of the fruit morphology of Malveae is essential to gain insight into the relationships among taxa of the tribe. Therefore, the present study aimed to describe the fruit morphology of Malveae, including micromorphology, variation in endoglossum structure and arrangement of seeds in the locule, to comprehensively evaluate the systematic relationships among its contained taxa. The results indicate morphological variation in fruit of various genera with regard to the number of mericarps, degree of dehiscence, relationship between calyx and fruit and their relative sizes, number and morphology of spines, number of seeds per locule, presence or absence of an endoglossum, presence and types of trichomes in exocarp and endocarp, and shape and presence of trichomes in the testa of seeds. Despite the morphological proximity of taxa, there are distinct combinations of characters that define some genera, and when one or more characters overlap, joint analysis makes it possible to clarify existing relationships. Conocer la flora de un territorio es prioritario para abordar políticas de conservación del medio natural. Con este objetivo se ha realizado un estudio de la flora vascular del Parque Nacional de Monfragüe y área de influencia (aproximadamente 150.000 Ha). Como resultado se han catalogado 1404 taxones de plantas vasculares, destacándose en este trabajo los niveles de endemismos para el área de Monfragüe. Los taxones estudiados pertenecen a 112 familias. Las mejor representadas son Poaceae, Fabaceae y Asteraceae que, constituyendo el 2,7% del total, acumulan el 31,7% de los taxones. Se señalan las especies amenazadas según criterios de la Junta de Extremadura. Queda de manifiesto la representatividad de este territorio a nivel florístico y, consecuentemente, la importancia de su conservación, ya que alberga el 62,3% de la flora vascular presente en Extremadura. Bocconea 26: 13-132. 2013. — ISSN 1120-4060 (print), 2280-3882 (online). The vascular plants material collected during Iter Mediterraneum V of OPTIMA in Morocco has been studied. It comprises 2366 gatherings collected from 65 localities mainly in the Rif Mountains (28 localities) and the Middle Atlas (21 localities) plus 16 localities in the High Atlas, the “plaines et plateaux du Maroc oriental” and “Maroc atlantique nord”. The checklist includes 1416 species and subspecies which belong to 112 families. One species is new for the flora of Morocco (Epilolium lanceolatum Sebast. & Mauri), 18 are new records for the Middle Atlas, seven for central Middle Atlas, one for Jbel Tazekka, nine for the “plaines et plateaux du Maroc oriental”, three for “base Moulouya”, four for “Maroc atlantique nord”, three for High Atlas, and three for the Rif Mountains. The following new combinations are proposed: Astragalus incanus subsp. fontianus (Maire) Valdés, Malva lusitanica var. hispanica (R. Fern.) Valdés, Nepa boivinii var. tazensis (Braun-Blanq. & Maire) Valdés, Ornithogalum baeticum subsp. algeriense (Jord. & Fourr.) Valdés and Ornithogalum baeticum subsp. atlanticum (Moret) Valdés.
