Look closely and you will see a garden of flowers, insects, and reptiles. Can you spot the white bunny? Can you feel the warmth of the sunshine? This work of art was heated to fuse the pieces into one solid sheet of glass. The sheet was slowly cooled, placed into a mold, and heated a second time to slump it so the piece has depth and shape. This glassware can hold food items or be displayed on the stand. Your new masterpiece can easily be cleaned with soap and water. Not intended for microwave or oven use. Bring a garden into your home. Local Union Hill artist Bill Ayers, with Rattarart Studios, conducted a workshop for the students where he taught a lesson on making glass, glass art, mosaic art, and firing glass. One tile from each student was fired into this artistic masterpiece and the other tile was sent home with the student artist. Special thanks to Bill Ayers, Kris Kelleran, and Paige Carruth.
