 The FFA is collecting for the FFA TRICK or CHARITY FOOD DRIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON during Elkhart Lake’s Trick or Treating (3-5pm) AND NEXT TUESDAY EVENING during Glenbeulah’s Trick or Treating (6-8pm). FFA members will be coming around door-to-door collecting donations. THANK YOU!

 HALLOWEEN Costume Contest!!!! NEXT Tuesday is Halloween, so BE CREATIVE and wear your costume! A costume contest will take place at LUNCH. Enter to win a prize in the following categories — Cutest/Prettiest, Scariest, Most Creative/Best Homemade, Or Best Couple/Group. Please remember they need to be school appropriate.... HAVE FUN!

 It’s time to order pies! The ELGHS Band is taking orders for selling homemade pumpkin and Door County cherry pies. Pumpkin pies are $9.00 and cherry pies are $12.00. Pumpkin and cherry pie orders are due NEXT Wednesday, November 1st. Orders can be placed with any high school band member. Thank you for your support!

 Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Music Department Poinsettia Sale!! Our music department is again working to bring in renowned artists to work with our students. To help defray the cost of the artists’ residence with us, the district is organizing a poinsettia sale. Please complete the order (Poinsettia Sale), with collected, and return to the school office by Monday, November 6th. Pick up will take place on December 5th and 6th. THANK YOU for supporting the ELG Music Department!

 The FFA FRUIT SALE is going on now through Wednesday, November 15th. The fruit will be delivered the week of December 4th.  Wednesday is Donut & Sunny D Day at Camp Elkhart!! (Sold by the library before school) $1.50/Donut; $1.00/Sunny D. All proceeds go towards the Veteran’s Day Luncheon and Thanksgiving Day Luncheon with the FCCLA.

 The PTA would like to give a big THANK YOU to everyone who helped out and participated in the Family Fun Night last Friday night at Anchor Lanes. We raised $3,200 for our school!

 The next ELG PTA Meeting will be Monday, November 6th from 6:00 to 7:30pm in the MS Cafeteria. The will be reviewing the following: How the Family Fun Night went?; The Pizza Fundraiser during Parent/Teacher Conferences (We will need volunteers); We would like to sell Christmas Kringles during November into Thanksgiving; Discuss a Social Hour after the 2nd-5th Grade Winter Concert on Dec. 14; Hand out Candy Canes to children after the K-1st grade Winter Concert on Dec. 15. Parents and Guardians should only contact school if a change is needed to their contact information. WE ARE REQUESTING THAT IF YOU RECEIVE A VOICE MESSAGE OR TEXT FROM THE SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, PLEASE LISTEN TO THE MESSAGE BEFORE CALLING SCHOOL, AS MOST LIKELY, IT WILL BE THIS TEST. ATHLETICS - GO RESORTERS!

GOOD LUCK to Peyton and the GIRLS’ CO-OP SWIMMING TEAM as they HOST the Eastern Wisconsin Swimming Conference Meet at HOME at Kiel TOMORROW (Saturday). Start time is 9:00am.

GIRLS’ AND BOYS’ BASKETBALL OPEN GYM will be held Tuesday and Thursday’s afterschool (3:00 to 4:30). Open Gyms will continue until Monday, Nov. 6th.

ATTENTION J.V. AND VARSITY VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS: Uniforms and backpacks are to be returned BY THE END OF THE DAY TODAY (Friday, October 27th). They can be dropped off to Coach Sitko in Room 400.

The Aurora Sport Trainers will be here Monday’s and Wednesday’s at Lunch. If you need to see them, please stop down in the office. Remember ALL students being seen by one of the trainers MUST HAVE a signed Aurora Release to Treat on file in the office. If you have not completed a form, please stop in the office and pick one up.

ATTENTION PARENTS/GUARDIANS OF ALL WINTER SPORTS ATHLETES!! There will be a MANDATORY WINTER SPORTS PARENT/ATHLETE/COACHES MEETING at 6:30pm on Tuesday, November 7th in the High School Cafeteria. Mr. Faris will briefly meeting with everyone for main requirements, and afterward each winter sport will break into specific groups to meet with Coaches to go over individual sport schedules (practice/game), expectations, rules, and policies. Meet the Herbert Hoover High School kids: There's Corndoggie, who stands up dream girl Betsy Lou on prom night, leaving both completely miserable and alone; funny Manfred and cheerleader Darlene; and poor Duffy and Bumpers, each floundering around looking for that special someone; and Corndoggie's rival for Betsy Lou, superjock troublemaker, Forrest Barrett. Then Margie, everybody's buddy, counselor, and warden; rock stars Johnny Sapphire and the Gemtones; and the biker gang, Duh Wheels, who end up cornering Corndoggie and his pals in a chase scene that tumbles over into the audience! GUIDANCE OFFICE NOTES & COLLEGE/MILITARY VISITS

SENIORS..... A reminder, those of you planning to apply for the STUDENT EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP through the Herb Kohl Education Foundation, the deadline to submit your application is NEXT Friday, November 3rd. Be sure to request your letters of recommendation now if you haven't done so already. See Mrs. Bunyea with any questions or review the information online at www.kohleducation.org.

LTC Upcoming Event – Parents’ Night – November 8th (4:30 to 6:30pm).... The event open to all 9th – 12th grade students and their parents. Students and parents are asked to attend the entire time. Topics discussed: Benefits of technical college education, educate parents on how to maximize high school experiences to jumpstart college preparation, getting started - admissions and to do steps, financial aid, scholarships, student panel, and a cluster tour. My name is Erin Glynn and I am the MakerSpace Coordinator at the elementary and middle school. I am in need of the following items for our upcoming projects:

Project 1: The Great Gingerbread Village Holiday Festival at The Waelderhaus (*plywood board--no larger than 2 feet by 2 feet (19 of them); and *edible materials--Homemade gingerbread, purchased gingerbread, graham crackers or any variety of cookies or crackers, either homemade or purchased can be used as the basic building material. Candies, confections, gum drops, choc. Chips, candy canes, licorice, hard candies, coconut, marshmallows, frosting, etc.)

Project 2: UpCycled Sweater Mittens (*Old wool sweaters--any color; and *Fleece--any color--for inside of mitten)

Any item donated is greatly appreciated!!
