I’d like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the significant and valuable input of past Board members who have remained willing to assist, post holding office, in any capacity required. This has ensured WPNSW has an extremely solid foundation from which to implement further change. The referees pathway initiative, the Strategic and Operational Plans as well as a planned review of the Constitution are “works in progress” but very advanced in process and indicative of the effort being exerted behind the scenes. The annual forum will again be held in September 2014 and will be integral for the ongoing input by the stakeholders and further development of the sport in NSW. In the later part of the 2014 Financial Year, Tim Hamill has been appointed to the assistant coach’s role with NSWIS, while a loss for WPNSW, we wish Tim all the best in his new role. With changes to the agreement this position currently operates under, the appointment of new personnel to the Development Officer role will allow greater involvement in the specific outcomes targeted by WPNSW in the Strategic Plan. Finally, on behalf of the Board, thank you for your support during 2013/14 and the many changes and challenges it has included. On behalf of the board of Water Polo Australia I would like to welcome all of the athletes, coaches, referees, volunteers and fans to the culmination of a successful and competitive season of water Polo in Australia. This year’s AWL has seen some wonderfully close competition amongst some of the best athletes in the nation as they battle towards the title in Australia’s premier water polo competition. 2018 marks the 29th season of the AWL and we thank all of the clubs and the WPA team for making this possible. The season launched into the summer of 2014 with our trials and selection process. With the many new and strong players following the pathway from the juniors our selectors had a tough time making decisions.

    ANNUAL REPORT 2015/16 Think.Act.Play is the program that was developed in conjunction with Water Polo Australia and NSW Sport & Recreation to ensure that core values, good reputation, and positive behaviours are maintained. Water Polo NSW has implemented the program and envisage it to be a cornerstone support to the development of the Sport. The key messages that the program aims to promote are: THINK before you speak ACT with respect PLAY in the spirit of the game All Clubs and Regional Associations are encouraged to look to implement the program within their local training and activities.
