Ever since Disney first bought the rights to Lucasfilm back in October of 2012, it was clear that we would be seeing a broad future of Star Wars material released outside of the new trilogy. The announcement of spinoffs has left many doubtful, but Celebration Anaheim’s confirmation of the Anthology series has sparked a lot of interest in the series as a compliment to the overall Star Wars mythos. CATEGORY POSTS Though the first film in the series, Star Wars Anthology: Rouge One, doesn’t hit theatres until December Facebook social plugin of 2016, there’s already been speculation regarding the 2018 film, whose director spot was vacated by More STAR Josh Trank. Jeff Sneider of The Wrap recently reported that Boba Fett would be the focus of WARS the film. However, an exclusive source has revealed some new info regarding the project. Rumblings: Is The Rumored Let’s classify this as a rumor to start as things are in motion quite a bit. But over and over again, my Obi-Wan Kenobi Trilogy source is hearing the same thing: Han Solo and Boba Fett will be the focus of the second Star Wars Closer to Happening? Anthology film set for release in 2018. This is not a new rumor per se’, as Latino Review has 6 hours ago previously reported the same rumor. What my source is stating is that it looks to be happening with some interesting additions. We Have A New PAPER The source reports that the conflict between Fett and Solo that was only hinted at in the original trilogy TOWNS (and seen countless times in the Expanded Universe) will finally be onscreen in a film taking place Trailer!!! between Star Wars: Episode III- Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV- A New Hope. Additionally, 7 hours ago it’s been mentioned that characters such as Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, and Bossk will make appearances throughout the film. Disney No Longer Moving Also, according to the source, Disney really wants to delve into the “hive of scum and villainy” Forward With that Star Wars has been known for. As Rouge One definitely seems to be playing off of the influences of TRON 3!?! War films (the Zero Dark Thirty/Saving Private Ryan of the Star Wars Universe) this Anthology film will 4 days ago explore the influence of Westerns and bounty hunter films. Though no director is attached following FEATURED VIDEO Trank’s departure, my source is saying that both Jon Faverau and Matthew Vaughn have been LET IT RIP! A thought to be circling the project. Live-Action BEYBLADE Film As a Star Wars fan, this is a really exciting prospect. Boba Fett and Han Solo are, arguably, two of the Is On The most popular characters in Star Wars history, and though it’ll be exciting to see Harrison Ford return in Way!!! Star wars: Episode VII- The Force Awakens, it’s cool to see the characters themselves back in their 4 days ago “prime.” It also brings up interesting questions: how did the little boy from Attack of the Clones become Is It Real? Is It the galaxy’s most fearsome bounty hunters, and what events led Han Solo to become the cocky, Fake? Creator wisecracking scoundrel he is? Behind JOKER If this is true and we do, in fact, get to see a Young Han Solo (which was rumored to have his own spin-off Pic That Went titled Solo at one point) it will also be interesting to see how they explore the back story we’ve only Viral Weighs In!!! known in the Expanded Universe. Though that content may be lost, events such as the A.C. Crispin Han 5 days ago Solo trilogy of novels and Boba Fett’s numerous adventures, including Tales of the Bounty Hunters, perhaps, will have a little bit of influence in this proposed movie. Expanding the events that we’ve heard about such as Han’s Ord Mantell bounty hunter encounter or winning of the Millennium Falcon can set up RECENT COMMENTS countless potential storylines. I’d love to see Disney’s take on the story. It’s understandable that some may still be weary of a spin-off series, but unlike most Cinematic Universes where there’s unnecessary prequels, the Anthology films look to be telling a story we want to see, and it NEWS IN PICTURES definitely seems to be in fan service. It’ll be hard for anyone to step into the roles of these iconic characters, but there’s a lot of talent out there (I personally think Jack O’Connell would make a badass Boba Fett). Also, that’s assuming they recast Boba Fett which would contradict Lucas’ own revisionist history in making Temuera Morrison’s voice heard in Empire. We shall see. The source has also said another interesting bit of information regarding a currently untitled THIRD Star Wars Anthology Film that is possibly set for release in 2020. While Rouge One will be a war film and the 2018 film will be a western, the third Anthology film will be much more “mythological and spiritual” based. While it was once reported that a Mace Windu movie may be in the works, there’s been strong speculation that this could be an origin story regarding Yoda. While the backstory of Yoda has been a closely guarded secret for some time it seems, the fact that this would be a possible final Anthology film, is an interesting notion. Compared to Marvel, doesnt it seem like Disney is still thinking a little bit small with STAR WARS? I get not wanting to dilute the brand, but where the Ewan McGregor stand-alone Obi-Wan movie(that he said he would totally be down for)? Wheres the DROIDS movie? How about something set in the Old Republic? Or since Rogue One turned out to be not what the name implied, where is the ACTUAL Wedge Antilles ROGUE SQUADRON movie(c'mon.....X-Wings vs TIE Fighters....its TOP GUN in space)? Disney needs to get their hand off the brake and go all in with STAR WARS!!!!! Reply · Like · 12 hours ago Michael Stone · Top Commenter · Apprentice at Park Farm, River Cottage HQ the premise devised is something i would buy into, it would add a layer of depth to the characters with out delivering to much into the backstory that would corrupt the vision we have created for ourselves of these villains and nurfherders. It's like a mix of the two anthology stories I presented, Order 66- following Boba Fett and Darth Vader as they are sent on missions to seek out Jedi's, the other being Rebel Son- a origin story for Han Solo in a way told through snips of flashbacks as he goes on adventures with chewy as he meet up with Lando and other characters from the original trilogy.

  • Star Wars: the Hive
Star Wars The Hive by Steven Barnes updated : 11.XI.2006 ############################################################################### FOR NICKI, STEVEN AND SHARLEEN CHIYEKO Happy birthday, kids! Chapter 1 G’Mai Duris, Regent of the planet Ord Cestus, formally folded the fingers of her primary and secondary hands. She was an X’Ting, of segmented, oval, dull gold body and gentle manner, one of the insectoids who had once ruled this planet. Before the coming of Cestus Cybernetics, X’Ting hives had thronged this world, but now the soulless industrial giant not only dominated the planet but also threatened the safety of the Republic itself. Obi-Wan Kenobi watched as Duris prepared to address the hive council, the last humble remnant of X’Ting power. Like the offworlder capital of ChikatLik, some hundreds of meters above their heads, the council room was nestled in a natural lava bubble. The walls of the egg-shaped, fifteen-meter-high chamber had been glazed burnt sienna, but most of that original color was covered with handwoven tapestries. Three doorways, each guarded by two members of the X’Ting warrior clans, led out of the room-one to the surface, the others to deeper, less traveled places within the hive. The twelve councilors seated at the curved stone table were a mix of relatively youthful X’Ting, their carapaces still brilliant, and elders showing gray and white splotches amid their bristling thoracic hair. Their vestigial wings fluttered in distress. From time to time their primary or secondary hands would smooth their ivory ceremonial robes. Every red or green faceted eye studied her carefully; every auditory antenna was tuned to her words.
