I am old but young at heart and full of life, especially in the summer period when thousands of people liven up the beaches of my river Rzav. I have 20,000 hard working entrepreneur citizens. We are renowned for growing raspberries so I am called the Red Gold Capital. Almost every household in Arilje grows raspberries. The 5,000 “small factories under open sky” produce over 20 million kilograms of raspberry annually. Our raspberries are not only delicious, but have healing characteristics as well. They contain plenty antioxidants, and according to doctors, a daily portion of 130 grams of raspberry considerably reduces cancer risks. My name is associated with the best quality textile. If you ask where our cotton plantations are located, we will say there aren't any but there are numerous small and large workshops with products bearing the brand „TheAriljetextile”. DIDYOU KNOW? Many popular St. Ahilije people wore the Arilje products. You could see the Evolution brand attire in the Flamingos spot, Extreme Intimo underwear on Nataša Bekvalac and Danilo Ikodinović, Novak Djoković wearing the garments made by Miteks, Garman creations on singerTijana Dapčević and the host Milan Kalinić wearing Exterra. 4 5 ARILJE ARILJE HISTORICAL MONUMENTS My best known structure is the church of St. Ahilije from the 13th century which bears testimony that I am a town with a long history. Introduction Recent collections carried out by members of the Hungarian Natural History Museum and the Mátra Museum in the course of Balkan Biodiversity Research Project have produced four new Trichoptera species described below and several new records of those species which were not collected at all, or were only very rarely collected after its description. Material and methods This study is based on animals preserved in 70-80% alcohol. In order to observe morphological details in the gen- italia, the entire abdomen was removed and placed in a small glass beaker of 25 cm3 with 10% KOH solution and boiled during 5-15 minutes for digestion. The duration of the treatment is adjusted individually to the effectiveness of clearing process which depends on the species or even on the nutritive state of tissues or on the physiological condition of the specimens. The process of digestion can be easily followed by transparency. The dissolution rate of the soft tissues, the clearing transparency is clearly visible to naked eye. The digested abdomen was subsequently transferred to distilled water and the macerated tissue was removed mechanically by fine tipped forceps and nee- dles. The cleared abdomen was transferred to 80% ethyl alcohol, and to glycerine for examination under micro- scope.

Abstract Detailed distribution pattern of colubrid snakes in Serbia is still inadequately described, despite the long historical study. In this paper, we provide accurate distribution of seven species, with previously published and newly accumulated faunistic records compiled. Comparative analysis of faunas among all Balkan countries showed that Serbian colubrid fauna is among the most distinct (together with faunas of Slovenia and Romania), due to small number of species. Zoogeographic analysis showed high chorotype diversity of Serbian colubrids: seven species belong to six chorotypes. South-eastern Serbia (Pčinja River valley) is characterized by the presence of all colubrid species inhabiting our country, and deserves the highest conservation status at the national level.

Tara's national park was established in 1981 and it encompasses Tara and Zvijezda mountains, in a large bend of the Drina River. The size of the park is about 220 square kilometers with altitudes varying from 250 to 1,500 meters above sea level. The park's management office is located in nearby Bajina Basta. The national park consists of a group of mountain peaks with deep picturesque gorges between them. The most striking of these gorges is the Drina Gorge, with its sheer drops from 1000-250 meters and extensive views of western Serbia and nearby Bosnia. The area is also characterised by karst caves, pits, springs, and breathtaking vista points. The national park consists of a group of mountain peaks with deep picturesque gorges between them. Forests account for three quarters of this national park's area, some of them being the best preserved and well-kept in Europe.
