  • Raiderette of the Game
RAIDERETTE OF THE GAME MaddieROOKIE By Bailey Black “Begin each day with a grateful heart,” is a quote that has long encouraged Maddie and brings new meaning this year. As a lifelong Raiders fan, it has always been a dream of hers to wear the iconic silver and black Raiderette uniform, and this year she got the opportunity to do so. Growing up a California girl, Maddie is no stranger to the talent and dedication that goes into being one of Football’s Fabulous Females. Throughout her life, dance has been her greatest passion. After training in her mom’s dance studio for over 17 years, Maddie continued her dance studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. As a member of the UCLA Dance Team, she was awarded Rookie of the Year and knew that she wanted to pursue dancing professionally. “After representing my college, I knew that I wanted to continue having that same sense of pride for the Raiders and represent the Raiderettes as both a professional and as an ambassador for the Las Vegas community. I auditioned to become a Raiderette to inspire other people that with hard work and passion, they too can follow their dreams.” Though this is her first season on the team, Maddie has already left her mark. Her drive to succeed and compassion for her Raiderette sisters continuously shines through. While her dance skills remain impeccable, her eagerness to lend a hand and bring positive energy have made her a force to be reckoned with. While Maddie recently moved to Nevada, she has always been infatuated with the endless opportunities and experiences offered in Las Vegas.

Since the Reds swept the Dodgers in a Division Series in 1995, they have built more statues than they have playoff wins. In recent years, a Dodger said he was sick of Kirk Gibson -- not because of anything Gibson had done, but because the team had felt the need to roll out the highlight of Gibson's epic '88 World Series home run, in lieu of subsequent championship success. Similarly, most of the biggest stars in the Reds organization continue to be Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, Pete Rose and Tony Perez, as well as announcer Marty Brennaman, who recently announced he will retire after the upcoming season.

  • Allegiant Stadium Makes a Bold Statement for the Raiders Th
Sports Business Journal November 2, 2020 Karn Dhingra High Rollers: Allegiant Stadium makes a bold statement for the Raiders Throughout the Raiders’ 60-year history, the franchise never had its own home. Whether at Oakland Coliseum or Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the Raiders were always tenants. Allegiant Stadium is the Raiders’ first home they can truly call their own, and it was created in the team’s new Las Vegas image, appearing as a gleaming black and silver alien spacecraft on the south end of the Vegas Strip. The story of the Raiders’ $1.98 billion, 65,000-seat home started when the Chargers threw their lot in with the Rams’ move to Los Angeles and NFL owners approved Stan Kroenke’s SoFi Stadium and its mixed-used development in Inglewood, Calif. “In 2014-2015, we were invited to participate in a design competition for a new NFL stadium in Los Angeles in Carson, Calif., which was hosted by the San Diego Chargers,” said Manica architect Keith Robinson, who led the design team for Allegiant Stadium. “As part of their design critique [the Chargers] said we needed to develop a building that could accommodate two teams; it wasn’t clear if that was another NFL franchise or a college team.” Shortly afterward, Manica was informed it had won the competition and was asked to render out the proposed stadium and change the seat colors to black and silver. “And meet us in Alameda because the Raiders and the Chargers are going to pursue their relocation to Los Angeles jointly,” Robinson added.
