All the potential is there, from the steely character and the ripe wood-aging flavors. Intense and dense, the wine will need to age for many years to be at its peak. Dont even touch before 2019." Wine Enthusiast, 01/10/2014 94pts "This expressive version bursts with stone fruit, citrus, mineral and spice flavors, all matched to a juicy texture. Vibrant, kicking up energy BATARD-MONTRACHETon the long, spice- and citrus-accented Grand finish. Cru Shows Domaineenough structure to develop over the next 10 to 12 years. Best from 2016 through 2027." 2012 Wine Spectator, 01/10/2014 18/20 "Masterful. Such an esoteric yet recognisable nose. Some flinty reduction, plus fine grained texture and green apple fruit. Long, lithe, lingering. Catnip for burgundy tragics." Jancis Robinson, 01/01/2014 91pts "The 2012 Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru comes from the domaine, the parcel located on the Puligny side just under Montrachet. It has a fragrant bouquet that shows a little more complexity than the Bienvenue, the minerality more tangible at this premature stage. The palate is well-balanced with plenty of ripe green apple, pear and apricot notes decking the entry. The acidity is nicely judged and it builds in the mouth toward a lightly spiced finish. Fine."
