Our midyear numbers put us at #1 in the world, and with the fall we’ve lined up including this spectacular auction, we have every expectation of holding on to that number. This auction is the type we love to put together. Myriad cellars, with an unparalleled selec- tion of fine wines. One of my favorites has to be Fine Wines from the Esteemed Collection of a Lady (Lots 844-1154). There are far too few women wine collectors in our universe and that’s got to change! She has been a client of mine at Zachys since I started over a decade ago, and a collector for years before that. In fact, she comes from a family of collectors. Not only does she have 2005 Romanée-Conti and multiple vintages of Haut-Brion Blanc, 1990 Haut-Brion and Latour, she has the wines of Vietti, Ygay, Cerbaiona and Didier Dagueneau’s Asteroïde. Now that’s a palate I can get behind. Other amazing collections in this auction include The Magnificent Private Cellar of Ambassador James Pipkin (Lots 676-696), a cellar of wonderful provenance, with a great story behind it. Ambassador Pipkin has been collecting for decades and has taken special care with the wines in his collection. The Pristine Cellar of Joseph Ward (Lots 697-843) comes from the longtime Wine Editor/Wine Writer at Condé Nast Travel. Every bottle from Mr. Ward’s collection was bought by Mr. Ward himself, on release. There’s no better stamp of confidence than when the owner himself puts his name to the collection. We’re excited to be back at Zuma for this auction, and for its companion auction, The White Tie Collection II the preceding evening. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me or any Zachys specialist. We’ll see you at the sale! Cheers, Jamie Pollack Global Managing Director zachys® Join us for Lunch at Zuma A sophisticated twist on the traditional Japanese Izakaya style of informal eating and drinking; co-founded by Rainer Becker and Arjun Waney in 2002, Zuma has 11 venues globally. The majority of these lots were purchased on release as futures from Zachys retail and have remained virtually untouched in the clients immaculate, professionally built temperature and humidity-controlled home wine cellar. It doesn’t get any better than this!
