Greetings HEAT Family!

It’s Time to take this show on the Road…Dynasty Heat “Straight FIRE” Tour Stop #3 – Spirit of Hope Nationals in Charlotte, NC. This is our first time attending this event and we are super excited about the possibilities of the experience. Let’s bring the FIRE to Charlotte and let’s serve it Royally, all weekend!

We have put this information packet together to provide you with the details that you will need in order to ensure a smooth event for all. Please review this packet in detail to ensure that you and your child(ren) have a solid understanding of what to expect and how to plan accordingly.

As you are aware, Faith forms the foundation upon which our organization stands therefore, before each of our performance events, we fast as a family. We are asking our entire gym family, to fast on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM. If you are unable to do a complete fast, we ask that you give up something (e.g. soda, social media, sweets) as a sacrifice for safe and successful performances for our children. We also ask that you read and reflect on our scripture and devotional reading this week to get everyone mentally and spiritually prepared.

Once again, we are very excited about the future for our athletes, our gym and this season. This will be a great year. Let’s continue to work together and foster an environment filled with love, positivity and unity for our children. I look forward to seeing everyone in Charlotte EARLY on Saturday morning

Cheers and Unity! Coach

We all go through times when we feel like we're going backward. Things were going well, we knew we had God's favor, but then things turned. We lost a major client, our child didn't get the scholarship, or a friend walked away. We wonder, "What did we do wrong?" But just because you face difficulties that you don't understand doesn't mean you're not in God's will. God is ordering our steps, and sometimes He will order a cutback. Just as there are seasons of growth, there are seasons of pruning. Without the pruning we won't become all we were created to be. Jesus said, "I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit" (John 15:1–2). That makes sense. When we have things in our life that are not productive—a friend who is pulling us down or a job that's leading nowhere—He'll cut those things away so we can put our energy into things that move us forward. But Jesus added, "Every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so it will be even more fruitful." The only way to get from "fruit" to "more fruit" is to be cutback. That means there are times when you're doing the right thing and the wrong thing happens. Instead of getting discouraged, recognize that it's a pruning season. Without that cutback you won't see new growth. He wouldn't let you lose your job if He wasn't going to give you something better. He may have pruned a friend out of your life, but there's a better friend coming. You may be satisfied to stay where you are, but God is not satisfied. He has new levels, new opportunities, new relationships in store for you.

Prayer for this Event: Father thank you for the pruning, the cutback and the downsize. We trust your plan and we trust you

A. ATHLETE BEHAVIORS

Our organization takes GREAT pride in the way our athletes look – especially in public. Parents and athletes must understand that people will form perspectives about who we are as a program by the way we look and the way we carry ourselves in public. Literally, we will be judged from the moment we arrive to the competition venue. Presentation is EVERYTHING! It is imperative that everyone remembers that you are NOT representing your personal style – you are an official ambassador of Crimson HEAT All Stars, Inc. and as such, you must follow the gym’s appearance protocols. Please see below for details: • Athletes’ hair should already be styled in the designated Hairstyle. • The hairstyle for the season is a single-high ponytail with spiraled curls AND Red Bow (unless otherwise specified by the Athletes Coaching Team). • BRAIDS, FLAT TWISTS, PARTS and/or COLORED HAIR (e.g. blue, green, purple, etc.) are strictly prohibited. • Athletes should never wear rollers, scarfs, or pin curls in their hair when they arrive to the gym or performance venue for report time. • Athletes’ uniforms should be neatly tucked inside of their WARMUP; jackets should be zipped, and CHEER SHOES should be on their FEET! • The uniform should NOT be worn in parts (e.g. Warm-up jacket with Uniform but no pants, Warm-up pants but no jacket). • Athletes MUST put on their warm-ups immediately after their performance! • Athletes should remain FULLY dressed and in uniform for the entire duration of the event. • Athletes should report to awards ceremonies in full dress warm-ups (bows and make-up should be fully applied). All electronic devices (including cell phones) are prohibited from awards ceremonies. • All jewelry (including body jewelry) should be REMOVED prior to arriving to the gym or designated report location/venue. • Athletes are NEVER allowed to walk in the performance venue alone AND they should NEVER walk-around the venue in their uniform (outside of the designated cover-up). They should ALWAYS put on their Cover Up, immediately after their performances and awards ceremony. These standards must be maintained even when the cheerleaders are released to their parents.

Dynasty Heat – “Straight Fire” Tour Stop #3: Spirit of Hope, Charlotte, NC Page 7 of 11 B. PARENT BEHAVIORS

HEAT Parents should be wearing their Black Crimson Heat T-shirt or Hoodie. This is extremely important! Our kids need to be able to easily identify our FANS in the stands. This is a critical part of our safety plan! The HEAT family members should be easily identifiable to our athletes in cases of emergency.

HEAT Parents are expected to sit in the designated FAN Viewing AREA for our team’s performances. Parents are requested to move quickly to get into the section and out of the section after our teams are finished. Please be respectful of other teams when moving in and out of the section – always follow the instructions of the event staff when moving. Parents are requested to quickly get seated and be mindful of your iPads and video cameras – we don’t want to obstruct the view of the judges!

During awards ceremonies – PLEASE WAIT until you hear the HEAT name called to celebrate and regardless of our placement, we always celebrate our children. PLEASE demonstrate great sportsmanship in this regard.

After the awards ceremony, Parents should meet the coaches outside of the Awards Ceremony hall so that the children can be formally dismissed and returned back to you.

As a final reminder, HEAT Parents should always conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with our CREED. We do not want our fans to do anything that will negatively affect our teams or our program image. We NEVER know who the judges are or who the competition officials are – PLEASE be kind to everyone! a. Be on time. Please follow this schedule to the letter. Any slip in this schedule will impact other teams and hamper our ability to get to the arena on time. Our students have historically done much better when they have had at least an hour in the arena BEFORE their performance time. Our babies NEED to absorb the arena, the competition floor and have ample time for bathroom runs before it’s time for them to report to warm-ups. PLEASE, PLEASE be on time! b. Stop, Drop and Roll. We need to minimize the amount of traffic and confusion in the gym on competition day. We humbly ask you to please bring your child at the designated time and drop them off at check-in at the FIREHOUSE in the front lobby. No parents, family members or friends should be in the gym during our preparation time. PLEASE work with us on this. c. Don’t Make Pit Stops. Please go directly to the event location once we have departed the FIREHOUSE. Stay with the convoy. Use your stop, drop and roll time to get gas, go to the ATM, pick-up Aunt Mary and get breakfast. PLEASE do not, delay your child arriving at the event location on time. We will meet everyone directly in front of the event location main entrance.

Dynasty Heat – “Straight Fire” Tour Stop #3: Spirit of Hope, Charlotte, NC Page 8 of 11 d. Be prepared. Make sure that your child has their hair ready when they enter the FIREHOUSE. Staff members should not have to pin your child’s ponytail(s) on when they get to the gym. Children should not have to blow dry, sit under the hood dry or curl their hair when they arrive at the gym. These preparations should be done the night before. If any member of the staff has to do your child’s hair (other than a quick shine, gel and brush) – your account will be billed $45.00. We have two licensed hair stylist on staff, they will charge the going rates for hairstyles. e. Pack A LOT of Snacks. Please discreetly pack (in their shoe box) your child’s snacks in their bags. This will be a very long day the kids will need snacks to keep their energy going. As a reminder, we do not allow our kids to eat anything from the concession stands until AFTER their performance therefore it is critical that you pack snacks. Ideal snacks include grapes, orange/apple wedges, granola bars, peanut butter crackers, bananas, and turkey sandwiches. They should also have bottled water and Gatorade in their bag. Please take extra precautions when packing liquids. f. Remember SPORTSMANSHIP, FAITH and FAMILY!

A. We are a Faith-based organization – please conduct yourselves in a manner that is consistent with our structure.

B. We celebrate and support everyone!

C. We NEVER celebrate when others fall or have mishaps during their performance!

D. We are always friendly and courteous. You NEVER know who the judges are AND we don’t want to do ANYTHING that will affect the outcome of the competition for our children.

E. We support ALL of our teams. Parents are expected to be at the arena for all of the Heat performances – not just their own child’s team.

F. We sit together in the stands. The CHAS fans are well known in this industry. We are a very spirited organization – our parents have FUN the entire event.

G. We wear HEAT wear. Also, don’t forget your hats, blocks and TOWELS!!!

H. Parents are not allowed to bring food over to their children during the event. The coaches will take the children to get food at a designated time during the event AFTER their performance. The children should all have their own money to purchase food.
