Hello Dancers (And Would-Be Dancers) Newsletter Hello Dancers (and Would-Be Dancers) Newsletter News on Amy’s weekend dance venue picks—opportunities for those who love to dance or just love to listen to great music! Ed and I have been to many of these venues (including many of the listed dance studios), so contact me if you have a question about any of them. If you know of an upcoming event, dance opportunity, or a new dance venue, let me know and I’ll send it out to the group! If you go to any of the venues listed below, let me know what you think (after all, Ed and I can only go to a few places each weekend and have our own opinions!). Please also send pictures, band recommendations and reviews, or any item that you would like to share with others about dancing in the Northeast Ohio area! This newsletter is e-mailed weekly on Fridays (or around that time!). Want to email me? Send your message to [email protected]. November 16, 2012 Weekend happenings Make sure you check the studio dance calendars if you want to go to a weekend dance. Many of them might be at the Ohio Star Ball this weekend in Columbus! Sandy’s question: in American Tango, what should the non-moving foot be doing? If anyone would like to add their two cents, email me back so that we can see what everyone thinks! Amy Can’t read the newsletter in your email? For best viewing, view the PDF newsletter attachment—if you are on the email list, you may experience some weird formatting in your email (disappearing fonts, no picture, etc.), depending on your email settings! You can also look at my web site http://ohiodance.webs.com to download a newsletter! Events that arrive in my email after the newsletter is produced will be posted on the web site calendar. This newsletter is a listing of accumulated and recurring events up to the time I send this out through my email list! Let me know if an event closes or does not occur—I’ll take them off the listings. Much of this information comes from YOU! Hello Dancers web site links Home page --download newsletters and event registration Month events –on one calendar, see dance events sponsored by USA dance, other organizations, and local studios! • Gilles Marini Says He’
Gilles Marini Says He’s “Blessed to Have the Chance to Be a Father – It’s Magical” By Kristin Mattern French-born actor Gilles Marini has made a lasting impression on American fans. He’s memorable for his beloved turn as Dante in Sex and the City: The Movie, his recurring roles on shows like Brothers & Sisters, Ugly Betty, and Nip Tuck, and his stellar appearances on the 8th and 15th seasons ofDancing with the Stars. As evidenced by his diverse resume, his brave and beautiful man seems daunted by nothing. Who can forget his full frontal nude scene as Dante? The former model is currently gracing the small screen as Angelo Sorrento on Switched at Birth, where he tackles the challenging role of an estranged father who has reentered his daughter’s life — a role that’s close to this family man’s heart. Related Link: ‘Brothers and Sisters’ Star Celebrates One Year Wedding Anniversary On ABC Family’s hit show, Marini plays the biological dad of Bay Kennish, who comes back into her life after abandoning his wife Regina when he thought she had cheated on him. A father himself, the star says that being a parent doesn’t affect how he plays the character: “I am the polar opposite of Angelo when it comes to being a father. I think he just landed on this planet and became one sixteen years too late. It’s understandable to see why he is the way he is, based on his past and he’s childhood, but that also makes him human and interesting.” Marini and wife Carole, who married in 1988, have a son Georges and a daughter Julianna.
